The Charlottesville, Va. city council on Tuesday unanimously approved for the statue of Confederate leader Robert E. Lee to be melted down to create public artwork "that will "reflect racial justice," The New York Times reported.
The city council will give the statue to the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center, which plans to melt the monument to create a new piece of public artwork, according to the proposed measure.
The city council selected the Jefferson School’s proposal “Swords Into Plowshares,” from other potential bidders for the statue, according to The Times.

Seems to me a lot of Democrats are out to destroy the statues of any Rebel Civil War leader or military officer who were Democrats trying to protest their right to own slaves. Go figure.

After the last statue and reminder of the “Old South” comes down and is removed from the public square, I don’t want to hear another peep about slavery and oppression. All should be peaches and cream. That’s a pipe dream for sure but that’s what I want.
