Remember how Biden abandoned Afghanistan to the Taliban? The country is now on the brink of mass starvation.

Yeah so that absolute catastrophe that was the Biden administration's immediate and complete pull-out of Afghanistan -- turning our backs on many Americans, as well as any and all Afghans who have helped us for the past who-even-remembers-how-many years, and handing the country of Afghanistan as well as $85 billion in U.S. weapons and vehicles over to the Taliban terror group -- continues to pay off in spades.

Afghanistan is now on the brink of a mass starvation event that will be especially brutal on children:

Nearly four months since the Taliban seized power, Afghanistan is on the brink of a mass starvation that aid groups say threatens to kill a million children this winter — a toll that would dwarf the total number of Afghan civilians estimated to have been killed as a direct result of the war over the past 20 years.

While Afghanistan has suffered from malnutrition for decades, the country's hunger crisis has drastically worsened in recent months. This winter, an estimated 22.8 million people — more than half the population — are expected to face potentially life-threatening levels of food insecurity, according to an analysis by the United Nations World Food Program and Food and Agriculture Organization. Of those, 8.7 million people are nearing famine — the worst stage of a food crisis.

When a wheat crop becomes more valuable than a field of poppies, there will be no famine. Afghanistan has plenty of land, water and natural gas to make fertilizer. They grow the wrong things.

I may or may not be an active duty servicemember who may or may not be sickened at the incompetence and lack of military leadership capability within the Armed Forces today.

The Afghanistan withdrawal was reason enough to fire everyone in the Pentagon and the division level. The one LTC who dared demand accountability was sh-canned immediately.

I see this incompetence and political brown-nosing all the way down to the battalion and company levels now.

Via the BBC and German public news....it was already mentioned in early November. Logistics mechanism was totally broke down and simply not working. They were forecasting by end of December...some kind of food airlift would be required.

Totally different situation than in 1996 when Taliban first took over.

The one where Biden, days after the disaster said “that happened days ago.” That's old news!

Not my circus not my monkeys.

They had the benefit of 20 years of the US expending our blood and treasure to make it a better place, they chose not to take advantage of it. Too bad, so sad.

Same thing happened in Egypt after Obama and the Democrats actively overthrew Hosni Mubarak and installed the Muslim Brotherhood led by Saudi backed Mohamed Morsi. By the time Gen Abdel el- Sissi took over, Egypt was broke and reportedly three months from mass starvation. Gen el-Sissi called the Saudis and gave them a choice - bail Egypt out of the mess Obama and the Saudis had made in Egypt or Egypt was going to war against the Saudis. The Saudis coughed up about a $100 billion to bail Egypt out. No one is going to bail Afghanistan out and the Taliban are going to have their hands full.

allendale :" Afghanistan has plenty of land, water and natural gas to make fertilizer.

That's what they said about the Irish in the 1840's.
And that too lead to a mass migration, while people starved.

There are nearly 40,000,000 people in Afghanistan. A couple million dead is nature’s way of weaning out the weak in Afghanistan. It’ll be easier to support the population with the resources they have at this time next year. Remember they asked for this. Not us. Now they shall deal with the consequences.

Remember they asked for this.

Sometimes the people cannot stop a corrupt government and bad things happen even though they did not ask for it. I didn't ask for Brandon, and we're headed downhill fast.
