But not "wise" latinas.
offensive in trying to make a Spanish word fit English normsMore Leftist cultural appropriation.
hey, im 69.
i could supply a four letter or a six letter word, specifically for this occasion.
The word sounds like the brand name of a laxative.
They do not understand the left.
All descriptors of people and action must be changed in order to embrace the New World Order.
The first several times I saw “Latinx,” I actually thought it was parody. Silly me: the Left is so out there, they are immune to parody.
look up the definition on a search engine ... there is a little speaker you can click for the pronunciation ...
The woke, white, rich liberals will educate these Latinos how sexist and discriminatory their language is.
Still no idea what it it, read it as latex..............
And “he” is generic - no need for “he or she”.
Why are leftist so hung up on labels?
Latino/Latina is a silly moniker anyway.
Latium was a region of Italy that’s now called Lazio. There was a “lingua Latina” that was spoken in the region. The Romans took that language far and wide, but it gradually devolved into Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French and others. No one calls Italians or French “Latinos,” but it would make just as much sense as using that term for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking immigrants from Mexico and Central/South America and their progeny.
The world has many gendered languages like Spanish. Since the Democrats and the left obviously know what is best for everyone they’ve tried to take over the Spanish language. All nouns in Spanish have a gender. The masculine nouns end in “O” while the feminine nouns end in “A.” The masculine ending is the default ending. Words do not end in “X.”
Not always. "Mano," which is feminine, is the word for "hand."
That was also my first reaction when I saw the term. I now pronounce it "late-inks."
Late inks? As in, tattoos that were gotten too late in life? LOL
I jokingly asked a Mexican guy I know how it’s pronounced. He said he doesn’t know anyone who uses it and has no idea how it’s pronounced since it’s not a real word. We both settled on “la tinks” since it’s the most ridiculous.
I was thinking it would be pronounced like Malcolm X or Racer X from Speed Racer cartoons.
That’s not as much fun.
Maybe it's just that Hispanics share so many of our work ethics, beliefs and values.
