Ten people aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship approaching New Orleans have tested positive for COVID-19, officials said Saturday night.

I just got off a Miami Cruise ship.
Other than the mandated covid test before trip, it was fantastic.
Probably 500 - 600 people total for 4000 normal guests.
Very little mask drama except on shore excursions.
Looks like the ship will have to land at Nuevo Progresso and have the passengers walk into the US
If Cruise lines wanted more customers they could put those 500 - 600 people you speak of into the best cabins available... Serious up-grades all around until potential customers sitting on the fence start coming out so they don't miss out - - on once in a lifetime deal...
“which means 100% of the COVID cases are among the vaxxed.”
Which means nothing.
Usually these ships carry over 5000 people (crew and passengers). So if 10 our of 5000 were infected that is only 0.2%. If a vaccine is 99.8 percent effective that’s damn good in my book.
Sadly most freepers glum on to these meaningless and very misleading reports because they think it confirms their bias.
Absolutely correct. They’d get good will, and a customer for life.
Sounds like a real fun cruise.
I used to love cruise ships but I'm not stepping on another one until this nonsense ends.
Some food for thought: If this can happen on a cruise ship full of fully vaxxed employees and passengers, imagine what’s going on in our hospitals and residential care facilities...
Go argue with the AP, a strong proponent of vaccines. It’s their story
Good question.
It’s not just that every passenger has to be vaxxed. Every Norwegian passenger is also tested for Covid just before boarding the ship.
The tests are easy to defeat.
If you’re so inclined.
How do you defeat a nasal swab ?
I don’t much care whose story it is, it’s whether it makes any sense that matters.
So, does what I said make sense to you?
wonder what the herpes and std infection rate is.....
but if a nuke....from orbit...just to be sure.
If you're suggesting the vaxx is of marginal efficacy, then yes, you are making sense.
This would require a short arms inspection which is best conducted after last call in the Cha Cha lounge.
Not just nasal swabs. Spit, too.
I’m not going to share how.
But the fact that it can be done is just another reason the tests are crap.
No I’m suggesting that the numbers as presented show the vax is 99.8% effective.
The only way to really find how effective (or not) the vaccine is, would be to compare two cruise ships, one with 100% non vaxed and the other with 100% vaxed.
Which one do you think would have the better numbers? We know the vaxed had only 0.2 that tested positive, but may or may not have had any symptoms and most of the passengers on these cruises are the well seasoned citizens, the most at risk.
How many do you think would have gotten sick on you’re non-vaxed ship?
