Oh no it’s the wokeamheni..bacterium..no workus affectus..
So weird.. Just yesterday I was looking into different water filters to buy.
The quality of recruits in today’s military has declined over the past several decades. American service personnel are not as competent as in the 1980s. That’s my observation.
The Wahine are going to be pissed. Not good.
5.56mm
Aboard aircraft carriers in the 1980s there was so much JP in the water I thought of posting “No Smoking” in the shower compartments.
Is EVERYTHING under Brandon a major fuster-cluck???
(Kinda seems so)
On an older CG our sounding & security watch used a fuel tank sounding tape on our potable water tank. We had to fill and flush it three times. On the third fill it got contaminated again. Water hours for ten days is no fun.
RO filters can’t handle oil and petroleum.
Not sure anything short of distillation could and then you would need to mineralize the distilled water.

Question - Is this piece telling me that the civilian population of Honolulu relies upon US military aka US Navy water supply? If so, why? Is this a common practice where local populations utilize military resources for their day to day existence?
I remember back in the 1980’s they re-lined those Red Hill fuel tanks with new 1/4” steel plate. Apparently that’s about as long as it’s good for. The water table is, in part, under those tanks. Moving those 7 tanks is out of the question but keeping them tight shouldn’t be that hard. There’s no info so far about where the houses actually are where the folks smell petro. Could be the local Shell stations spilling some junk?
The municipal and the military water source is probably the same aquifer, even if they have two separate wells.
I live in Hawaii.
I’m a strong supporter of national defense.
But this entire problem is due to Democrats and their policies.
The Fuel dump needs to be replaced.
The Navy doesn’t want to do it because of Democrat EPA BS.
Takes too long and costs too much. Plus they have to listen to ignorant Democrats complain about what ever their little minds dream up.
But that aquifer is going to be contaminated.
Fix it. Charge the mainland Democrats for it.
They built it.
Full disclosure; I live on a different island.
I get all my water from God and my roofs.
That really pisses Democrats off.
I don’t need their services.
Distillation won’t help for jet fuel range hydrocarbons their evaporation and condensation temperature range cross those of fresh water. Which means you will distill off and condense those range hydrocarbons with the fresh water. Certain types of RO membranes are impervious to hydrocarbons that is what must be used distillation won’t work. The military has RO units capable of cleaning up hydrocarbons contaminated waters we used them overseas when the local water sources were contaminated by a certain dictator who blew his wells up and set the sky on fire.
Is their real plan to boot the Military off the islands ?
JP5 in shipboard drinking water was a given.. you get used to the taste.
The military hates their people and families. Just look at how well the water system played out at Camp Lejeune over the years.
