Everyone around the world was cheering when he he went to Peking, but I was totally opposed, and those of us who opposed the trip, including his own Congressman John Schmitz (R-Calif.) were eventually proven right. Nixon should have left Red China stewing in "angry isolation," as he put it.
Nixon's greatest accomplishment as president was saving Israel.
Nixon was hated by the establishment for bringing down Alger Hiss, former State Dept employee who lied to Congress about being a Soviet agent. Hiss was a pipe-smoking commmie intellectual. The eastern elites identified with him. Also, Nixon was anti-communist, and if there is one thing our elites hate worse than anything, it is anti-communists.
The Vietnam protesters didn’t know that he wasn’t a right winger. He was a Republican President, who the press hated, and that gave them the impression that they should hate him for Vietnam.
I seem to remember one got fired for it at the time.
Hillary was fired by the Watergate team for cheating too blatantly.
Another one of the three who received the ‘do not rehire’ recommendation was also prominent in the Clinton Administration: Bernie Nussbaum.

John W. Dean is still alive—the media’s “go to” man whenever something a Republican President does needs to be described as “worse than Watergate.”
He is a living cadaver, still lying his ass off, as he’s always done.
They do go to him, but Carl Bernstein is still the main "go to" guy.
