Joe Biden has warned that he will not accept "red lines" set by Moscow as fears mount that Russia is planning an imminent invasion of Ukraine.
The US president said he will make it "very, very difficult" for Russia to invade its neighbour.
Meanwhile, US media has reported that intelligence officials fear an invasion could begin in early 2022.
It comes as Ukraine says Russia has boosted its military at the border and amassed some 94,000 troops there.
A video call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Mr Biden to ease tensions is expected this week.

I haven't seen any military analyst listing that as a serious possibility. 100k Russian troops could conquer that area, but would be insufficient to control it later. That area is heavily populated with a Ukrainian majority. More credible is creating a Russian land bridge to Crimea which would also solve their water issues.
I would split Ukraine. The western part, which was traditionally a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and then Poland, should be an independent State, based in L’viv, free to join the EU and NATO, if they wish. I believe even Putin said this would be acceptable.
Then the main part of Ukraine, based in Kiev, should be neutral, with Donbass and the Russian-dominated areas, free to either be absorbed into Russia, or be an independent State aligned with Russia.

Wrong. Trump was the first US president to send weapons to Ukraine including javelin anti-tank missiles. Obama sent blankets and mre's.
As to nonsense that Ukraine is a US pawn, there are free elections in Ukraine and the pro-Russian party gets only 10% of the vote.
Every poll in Ukraine shows an overwhelming majority of Ukrainian's want to be in a united Ukraine and allied with the west.

In 2014, Ukraine’s constitution collapsed and control of the country was seized by a bunch of NATO-backed coup plotters. The country was divided up in a free-for-all. Russia happened to grab the part that they really needed (the coup plotters were trying to break a generational lease agreement). The outcome is completely defensible. Crimea is now part Russia, just like Kiev is now part of the “new”, post-coup iteration of Ukraine.
They aren’t asking people in LPR and DPR, obviously. They would probably settle for being autonomous oblasts, but would have to be compensated for the war crimes perpetrated against them by Kiev.

That's complete nonsense. The only thing that happened was a corrupt president who tried to set himself up as a dictator (passed "dictatorship laws") stole billions and fled the country. Ukraine's parliament stayed in office and officially then voted him out of office. That to you, somehow becomes a coup.

To be honest, I'm not sure we can handle a one front war right now.
I’m no military strategist, but I think we could put up a good fight and prevail against Russia, we already have a sizeable military force in Europe along with our NATO allies....
But China has the bulk of their military inside the borders of China, Taiwan is 25 miles from China, we don’t have anywhere near the manpower or logistics to be able to respond to a full scale attack on Taiwan. By the time we built up our forces the battle would probably be over, China would own Taiwan, I heard General Keene on Fox News say exactly this...
If we attempt to respond to China’s attack on Taiwan, how much stomach will the public have if a US Aircraft Carrier is sunk with 5000 sailors going down with it....it would be catastrophic....

YES—I figured it out! Russia and China are in Cahoots! So is Iran an North Korea! Maybe even Turkey an Syria? They play to give us fits one way or another. China gits Taiwan, Russia gets its old Soviet Empire, and Iran gets southern Iraq, Syria Lebanon. Who gets screwed? Biden an Poland, Japan and India. I am thinking that if something big happens in the USA—like Terrorism, CW II or civil unrest—The “Axis of Evil” will move as one to expand their power. They don’t think like one Star-Trek World Gov. They are more great power brokers like the 19th Century.
