John Schneider is sharing his thoughts on Alec Baldwin’s “Rust” movie set shooting.
On Oct. 21, Baldwin was rehearsing a scene on the New Mexico set of his planned film “Rust” when a gun he was holding discharged. A projectile from the weapon fatally struck cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
An investigation into the incident has been underway for a month now, and Baldwin spoke out Thursday night, claiming during a tell-all interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC News that despite holding the gun, he “didn’t pull the trigger.”
Ahead of Baldwin’s interview, a preview was released, which featured Baldwin’s comments, and Schneider, 61, shared his thoughts on the matter in an 18-minute video titled “Seriously Alec?“
Schneider claimed the interview was “all designed to make us feel sorry for Alec Baldwin” and claimed the actor’s teary-eyed emotional responses during the interview were “bulls–t.”

Dana Loesch said yesterday on her program that Alec Baldwin is a “made man” with the DemonRats/Left. That being said, old Alec is just following the successful example of another infamous “made man” of the Left, Slick Willy:
Slick: I did NOT have sex with that woman! I did NOT inhale!
Alec : I did NOT pull the trigger!
Worked for Bill ... will likely work for Alec.
Not sure why the animosity for a conservative actor speaking out against the idiot Baldwin.
“Or if the sear was badly worn
Possible, but highly unlikely”
I believe the SO is still holding the weapon as evidence so that would be easy to determine.
my 2cents. He should never have been within a 5 miles of any firearm nor should anyone be within 5 miles if he is near one . Alec balwin has shown some deadly psychopathic traits. Be afraid of him.
Supposition: Baldwin pulled the hammer back, but not far enough to cock it, i.e., lock it in the cocked position, then he released it by sliding his thumb over the top of the hammer, either accidentally or on purpose, and the power of the spring was enough to force the end of the hammer into the live round, causing its discharge.
Baldwin’s experience with firearms in other movies I’ve seen has been with semi-auto handguns, not revolvers. So as a minimum, I’d say he was negligent by not familiarizing himself with the weapon he was handling before doing what he did.
He comes across as a red white and blue troop supporting red blooded american and a genuine nice guy you'd like for a neighbor.
Im not defending what he has to say as gospel I'm questioning the judgement against him from people who think he's really like the character he played on a tv show 40 years ago.
I am no expert.
Every modern single action revolver I own has a transfer bar between the hammer and firing pin. The trigger must be pulled for the transfer bar to let hammer strike the firing pin.
Was the gun he was using so old it had no transfer bar?
If you watch John Schneider’s videos (YouTube), he demonstrates knowledge, is rational, has vast experience, and is even fair to a degree toward Baldwin. Gotta say I was impressed with the guy. Moreover, George Clooney (who I detest) has at least shown the guts to break with the narrative and go against Baldwin to a degree.
Please forgive the long post but I just had some more thoughts on Baldwin.
I was watching some self-proclaimed lawyers on YouTube last night (all night up with sick puppy. Finn is going to the vet today!), all agree that Baldwin is just digging himself a deeper hole.
True, however this goes so much deeper. Baldwin’s most telling line in the ABC interview was his having “No Guilt”. Forget all his lies or the fake tears, especially forget his claim about “NOT” pulling the trigger. This no guilt statement tells you all you need to know about Alec Baldwin. People with narcissistic personality disorder possess no empathy. None. Nada. Zero. Zilch. So, when asked if he had any guilt, Baldwin slips up and tells the truth. I’ve never seen barefaced narcissism before. Wow! Most times they hide it better, but this guy let his guard down.
Alec and George together?
What do you think happens when two actors do an interveiw? BSx2!!
Best wishes for Finn.
I think he looks pretty good!
Baldwin chose “pulled the trigger” for a reason. Distraction.
I’d choose “fired the gun.”
I don’t trust anybody to check a weapon for me. I appreciate it when they provide it in a way that makes checking easy (cylinder out, action open).
I don’t trust anybody to tell me the coast is clear when pulling into traffic either - I don’t mind but I still look for myself. This has saved my bacon more than once.
Well Baldwin only screwed himself because all of that stuff he said is going to be brought up in the lawsuits, he admitted he didn’t check the gun and said he pulled back the hammer and let it go which is how it fired. Say goodbye to your money Alec. Supporting 6 kids with a lunatic wife takes a lot of cash and if she divorces you, you’ll be even more effed. I hear Home shopping network is hiring.
I watched about one minute of that and it was all I could take.
He still looks good
......assuming your talking about Schneider......not Baldwin
Baldwin shot himself in the foot many years ago when he didn’t want to follow up in the Jack Ryan series.
All of the guesswork in the world, even based on personal experience with similar firearms, is just that - guesswork. It won’t get him charged (or NOT charged); it won’t get him convicted (or exonerated) IF he is charged; and it won’t affect the outcome of any civil proceedings, current or future...
