The Black Lives Matter Global Network has announced they will be boycotting "white companies" as part of their "Black Xmas".
They shared an Instagram post, with a caption reading: "We’re dreaming of a #Blackxmas. That means no spending with white companies from 11/26/2021 – 01/01/2022."
The Black Lives Matter group also shared a post to their website, saying: “As we prepare ourselves for the holiday season, we are bombarded with ads that seek to whip us up into a consumerist frenzy.
“Black Friday sales are being rolled out weeks in advance of Thanksgiving and, at every turn, white-supremacist-capitalism is telling us to spend our money on things that we don’t need, to reap profits for corporations.”
It continued: "#BlackXmas challenges us to shake off the chains of consumerism and step fully into our own collective power, to build new traditions, and run an offense as well as a defense."
"Black Xmas" was started in 2014 after John Crawford, a black man was involved in a police shooting in Ohio. Crawford was holding a BB gun that was for sale in a Walmart.

They keep trying to blame their self-inflicted failures on Whitey. Fact is, they’d be poor and hungry without Whitey going out to work for them.
Who owns the companies that make the booze they’ll certainly be still buying? Are Boone’s Farm, Thunderbird and Colt 45 white owned? I know, that’s raciss...
Do they plan to boycott the “music” companies producing rap cd’s and videos?
How many football and basketball teans they’ll be watching are white ownbed? Wanna bet they don’t boycott them?
I see plenty around here wearing Nike logo shoes, caps and clothes, are they still white owned and do they plan to boycott Nike if so?
Oh yeah and what about KFC and Popeyes?
Yeah I know they’d call me a racist for 2/3 of that...but hey, I didn’t start it...he ponit is, many of the companies they would therefore boycott are the same ones they have preferred to partronize for many years. Booze companies, Swisher Sweets, KFC, Nike, their favorite ball teams...are they included?

The same is true for ads from J.C. Penney’s, and even from L.L. Bean and Eddie Bauer.
Well actually, the “X” is shorthand for “Christ”.
Not in my book it’s not. I don’t think literally or figuratively there is any substitution for Christ. While I’m on the subject, I don’t like it when people say “the big man upstairs” either, when they refer to God the Father. But again, peoples mmv. I’ve been accused of being too old to change and being too much of a grouch. Guilty on both counts.
Guess there’ll be no electronics this year.

Right down the street from me is a black family owned chicken place. Southern food. I don’t do much chicken but I stop in occasionally and get their fried okra to go. I will continue to do that. They’re always very nice to me.
