NATO allies share an "unwavering commitment" to Ukraine's sovereignty, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Thursday, hours before he meets Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov amid escalating East-West tensions over Ukraine.
Blinken, speaking at the start of talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, reiterated Washington's concerns over a build-up of Russian troops on the border that has triggered threats of fresh Western sanctions against Moscow.
Kuleba tweeted that Ukraine, which is not a NATO member but seeks closer ties with the Atlantic alliance, was working with Western countries on a "comprehensive deterrence package including severe economic sanctions" to stop Russian aggression.

I don’t believe the Germans would fight.
The traitors and DC dipsh!ts will wag the dog or blunder us into a shooting war with Russia or China before this over. These morons are less qualified in balance of power politics than they are in running the economy.
Kabuki.
If NATO wanted to really make a statement, they’d rush a vote, make Ukraine a member of NATO. Per the standing agreement, if Russia attacks a NATO member (Ukraine) then all of NATO agrees to go to war against Russia.
But I don’t expect NATO to make Ukraine a member. I do expect Russia to invade Ukraine. Why not? No one is going to do anything.
The Ukraine has been such a cash cow for the Biden crime family, maybe they should be “protecting their assets”. But then, there is always mainland Communist China, shutting down Hong Kong and now Taiwan.

Today’s reports seem like more than just speculation this time.
“ NATO allies share an “unwavering commitment” to Ukraine’s sovereignty”
They’re screwed.
Totally agree. Maybe the spark that starts the fire.
When the administrations polling goes negative, the result is usually a war.
I seriously doubt, even this bunch would enter a shooting war with Russian, a war of words will suffice. But if I were a small third world country, I would be very worried.
I see several in South America, Asia, even Europe that could be taken out in a couple of months.
Then the victory parades and speeches would ring out. All to the glory of Biden & the Democrat Party.
By the way, just imagine Generaly Millie (on purpose), resplendent in his pink and green covered with more medals than Audie Murphy will look welcoming the troops home
NATO won’t do anything because much of Europe does not want Pootie Poot to turn off their Winter fuel. And the U.S. won’t do anything because dopey Joe is a potato and milley is a transgender faggot.
I believe we would not either.
I hope not. If we’ve got to fight, let’s do it for ourselves, for once.
What a difference in a world without Trump.
Committed to blankets and beans nothing else
“If NATO wanted to really make a statement, they’d rush a vote, make Ukraine a member of NATO.”
I believe any expansion of NATO requires ratification by each member state. Meaning it would have to get through the US Senate.
Sergey Lavrov is a plainspoken, straight shooter. I doubt Blinken or any other US State Department spokesman can match intellect with him. I could watch/listen to him all day long.
Russia is fortunate to have him.
War in Russia in the winter?
I think I’ve seen this movie, and the sequel. The first was French, the second, German.
For some reason, history tends to overlook the many times Russia has lost in the cold, despite their home-turf advantage.
