In the future, more and more kids are going to be bullied in class, by their teachers, for their white proviledge. This kid, even though white, was probably bullied for other reasons.
And, if you have been bullied why just scatter shots at random? Why not set a trap for the bullying Aholes and get them?
I only partially buy it. More likely is coming down off anti-Depressants.

Most probably. It seems like every kid in the world is on Ritalin. Mostly because it is used to control boys. When I was a kid we called it "recess".
We had morning recess, and lunchtime recess. We used to run around like crazy playing games like "smear the queer". Boys have a lot of energy like puppies, and need to burn it off, otherwise they can't sit still.

For as aggressive as social media is on “misinformation,” they have no problem with a 15 year old posting a picture of a handgun to their Insta feed.

How did things go as the years went on? By the way, I like happy endings.
I went on to a very successful career in cybersecurity. Last I heard, my bully was turning wrenches at a local tire shop. The whole experience taught me empathy in a way that I wouldn’t recommend anyone else learn it.
I find these cases most inquisitive.
Fortunately, Michigan is not one of those state where the father could be held criminally liable for not securing the firearm against unauthorized use by a minor.
However, that will not resolve the father from civil liability for the loss of life, injuries, and trauma caused by the shootings.
Expect the father to be dragged into civil court and sued into bankruptcy by the families of the victims, assisted by anti-gun groups such as the Brady Campaign which will provide free legal counsel.
SSRIs? Drugs of abuse? And I also wonder about such things as blood level of vitamin D3 (deficiency?).
None of the above would be an excuse, of course, however it might be useful general info.
When I was a kid they moved your (or in this case my) desk up next to the teachers. :)

I gather you were one of the “in” crowd in high school. 15 years old is not old enough to obtain the “loser” label.
Students cower together in the back of a classroom, hiding as an armed gunman rips through the halls, killing four and injuring seven others.
Then, comes a knock on the door.
“Sheriff's office. It's safe to come out,” a voice from outside the classroom says.
Inside, a man replies: “We're not willing to take that risk right now.”
The person outside is insistent.
“It's OK,” the voice says. “Open the door. It's all right, bro.”
When students hear the person outside use the word “bro,” pandemonium erupts. They quickly come to the conclusion that it's the shooter because a sheriff's deputy would be unlikely to use the word “bro.”
“He said bro,” a teenage boy says, standing up amid the chaos. “Red flag.”
It’s Dickensian. Nerdly. More than enough to be picked on, certainly white enough to broadcast.
What kind of drugs was he on.

And 15 year olds haven’t lived long enough to cultivate that much hate/anger.

These days the bullied kids like you would get bullied by the counselors who would torture you as being a potential school shooter. That’s what will happen this time, too.
It never occurs to the idiots who run the public schools to stop the bullying. Nope, they just love to torture the victims.
