Nov 30 (Reuters) – The Biden administration was blocked from enforcing two mandates requiring millions of American workers to get vaccinated against COVID. U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty in Monroe, Louisiana, temporarily blocked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) from enforcing its vaccine mandate for healthcare workers until the court can resolve legal challenges.
Doughty’s ruling applied nationwide, except in 10 states where the CMS was already prevented from enforcing the rule due to a prior order from a federal judge in St. Louis.
Doughty said the CMS lacked the authority to issue a vaccine mandate that would require more than 2 million unvaccinated healthcare workers to get a coronavirus shot. “There is no question that mandating a vaccine to 10.3 million healthcare workers is something that should be done by Congress, not a government agency,” wrote Doughty.
Separately, U.S. District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove in Frankfort, Kentucky, blocked the administration from enforcing a regulation that new government contracts must include clauses requiring that contractors’ employees get vaccinated.
The White House declined to comment.
Think originally people were saying the ban was in 10 States only.
That 10 state ban was just a couple days ago.
The people that were Forced to get vaccinated should be able to SUE
Read it again.
It was ALL but 10 States that already have a ban.
Most people were implying it was in 10 States only.
Yes!
Now the ball is in Congress’ court, lol. I doubt they’ll move forward with legislation on such a controversial issue, especially with the midterm elections fast approaching.

That’s what I said...the 10 day ban was before this.
Two different judges on two different cases with two different jurisdictions. Result mandates for healthcare workers and contractors banned everywhere for the moment.
This is huge. Already there were four regional/local bans by fed courts.
This almost certainly portends a reasonable ruling by the 6th.

Staffed capacity, not total number of beds. Though you have to read pretty far in to realize that staffing, as in lack of, is the real issue.
This swill blames the unvaxxed rather than the mandate and the health systems that went along with it.
Q for NYS health systems: Are your vaxxed employees spreading the coof? Is nosocomial spread an issue in NYS?

This is shaping up to be a nerve-wracking December and January for private employers who thought the fed mandates provided air cover for them to coerce or fire employees over the vax! Might be time for some companies to start making nice with current and former employees to try and head off the massive litigation and reputation risks.
Gov. Abbott issued an executive order banning vaccine mandates in Texas. The 5th U.S. Circuit placed a permanent stay on the mandates, now a couple more U.S. judges put the whamy on the mandates.
My question, why is corporate America still mandating vaccines and or weekly testing?
Is there some action that is actually pending on this?
