Former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) discussed the nation’s borrowing limit in a meeting on Tuesday, as an impasse over the debt limit drags on in the upper chamber.
Mnuchin said the matter came up during a brief meeting with the leader in his office early Tuesday.
“I was over having breakfast with a bunch of Republican senators this morning. And then I came over to spend time with Leader McConnell and we talked on a range of subjects,” he told The Hill.

We need to drop the Debt Ceiling.
Mitch $ McCarthy got this.
The fact that mcconnell is still the republican leader in the senate says all you need to know about the gopE. Every single republican senator should be voted out just for this one fact alone.
What is there to discuss? Make Democrats own this. Every Republican should vote NO on raising the debt limit.
... on their collective heads.
No increase to the debt ceiling, please. How about we cut back on spending, redirected to important things, such as closing the border.
This is the easiest task that McConnell can do. Just say no. The Democrats should spend 1 week trying to raise the debt ceiling by budget reconciliation and McConnell doesn’t have to talk to 9 other Republican senators to vote yes on this.
Mnuchin and McConnell have caved on the debt ceiling every time.
I wonder how many $$$$$ were discussed.

That’s about it. Let the Democrats own this. I predict that the BBB bill will die in exchange for raising the debt ceiling. Because that’s how Schumer operates.
This means the debt ceiling is going up and the GOP got nothing in return-—again. But-but we have to keep voting for the GOP the world will end if we don’t and we will be disloyal, just like voting Democrat even though we don’t unlike the NeverTrumpers and the GOP Party establishment riff-raff.
The Green New Deal is going to pass. The Senate GOP wouldn’t have bothered clearing the decks for it if it was a dead letter.
They need humans with actual brains at The Hill.
