Since the 2016 election, there has been no question about Donald Trump’s stranglehold on the Republican Party. But generally speaking, we’ve learned about that through attrition — party members who run afoul of him voluntarily heading for the exits, rather than trying their luck with GOP primary voters.

These races are a test of the GOP Establishment's stranglehold on the party, and whether they still have the ability to protect their incumbents, destroy their opposition, and get nominated and elected who they want nominated and elected.
We shall see.
True, but you’ll have to file this cuz when 8/10 of these are gone, WaCompost will move the goal posts again.
Headline: Stranglehold
Because the Washington Pist wants everyone to associate President Trump with a strangler/murderer/evil orangeman
When 8/10 are gone they'll say that Trump "failed again" because he didn't get all 10.
This race is Alaska voters a whole, not just the GOP, as there no longer a GOP primary, so this isn't really going to be one of those tests. Democrats and independents will also be involved collectively with Republicans who support Murkowski (yes, there are some who probably exist - it's Alaska) *and* with the absurd ranked choice voting - so she could be the second or third choice of the overwhelming majority of voters and still easily win unless another candidate gets over 50% on the first choice...since there will be 4 candidates on the ballot, that is unlikely. A lot of Democrats would make her their second choice and so would Republicans and independents.
