Massachusetts could soon roll out a digital COVID-19 vaccination passport, Gov. Charlie Baker said Monday afternoon on GBH News’ Boston Public Radio.
Massachusetts is part of a coalition of states — somewhere between 15 and 20, Baker estimated — working to develop the technology. Baker displayed his personal QR code, attesting to his vaccination status, to hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan.
“This is my proof that I’ve been vaccinated. It’s easy to access, it’s a universal standard and we’ve been working with a bunch of other states,” Baker said, adding the passport could launch “soon.”
...
Last April, Baker said the state had no plans to launch a mandated vaccine passport system, describing it as a hurdle to getting more residents inoculated.
“I want to vaccinate people,” Baker said at the time. “Let’s get people vaccinated.”
Yet by September, Baker warmed up to the idea, saying people needed an easier way to prove their protection against COVID-19.

This is what it is about now. Tracking each and every man, woman, and child.
Everywhere we they go.
Covid is just an excuse.
Yea...Oregon legislators snuck digital vax pass into some legislation over Thanksgiving. Gave 2 days for citizen input.
Now you’re gonna chip us???
then declare guns a public health crisis and add gun ownership
next up carbon footprint
game over
Reason #2167 why we need a cultural divorce. Folks who want to be scanned, chipped, and given a daily Chinese butt swab will be free to do so. And the rest of us can live freely without their “wise counsels.”
This sounds like a Constitutional issue.
Darn it all. Every dimwit’s first thought for their simple minds to drift down the stream is to the ravine call “smartphone.” Airline? Make them use their phone as the paperless ticket. Music? Buy the songs for your phone.
I even heard today Catholics don’t worry about mini missals in the pew ahead with the Scripture verses having Covid on them because “they already have the week’s verses on their phones.”
Ok. I don’t have a smartphone; mine is a dumb phone.
I use a tracphone minute phone for car emergencies and to be called into the dentist’s office from the parking lot during lockdowns and so on.
So I am screwed. I knew someday they’d push me over the line. Not even Kroger’s only on the phone discounts broke me.
It will have the be size of a Solzhenitsyn book. All those boosters don’t you know.
Yup—I use my cell phone exactly the way you do.
“Live free or die” is gonna be more than just a slogan soon.
Go for it, Massholes.
The hill to die on. After you’ve taken out a bunch of them first, of course.
Here’s the bad news word of the day:
Triangulation.
Even with your “location services” disabled your phone can be located the instant it is turned on.
If “they” want you they will find you.
Mark of the Beast.
Triangulation to locate a hapless patriot....
And remote activation of the phone’s camera and microphone while user has them turned off.
PASSPORTS to where? To step off your property? Again, a passport to WHERE? Entering someone else’s private property? To walk on a so-called public street? What!?
Lots of people here made fun of Frontline Doctors and they warned us about this over a year ago.
Well, it all depends on what the “science” says is dangerous to do vaccinated versus unvaccinated. And we almost blindly trust with science says because science can never be wrong because we can’t question it comrade.
I have a flip phone. No idea what sort of apps I might be able to use, if any, and I don’t do texts. The phone is for making and receiving calls when necessary, and most of the time it’s in a drawer, turned off. I don’t carry the thing around all the time, so I guess this QR code stuff isn’t going to work for me.
