VALDOSTA — Four teenagers have been indicted for murder and other charges in the wake of a fatal shooting.
Jeremy Tucker, Jushon Ramsey, Zhamari Jacquis Williams and Mickey Stallings, all of Valdosta, were indicted recently by the Lowndes County Grand Jury, court records show.
All four were indicted for felony murder in the death of Steven Boothe, said Brad Shealey, district attorney. The four were also indicted for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit a felony and aggravated assault, records show.
Tucker and Ramsey were 17 at the time of the incident, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said; Williams was 16 and Stallings was 15, but both will be tried as adults, Shealey said.
The killing took place June 13 at 4247 White Water Road in southern Lowndes County, Sheriff Ashley Paulk said in a previous interview. The county’s 911 center received a call regarding the incident at about 3:30 p.m., said Capt. Stryde Jones of the sheriff’s office.
During an apparent home invasion, a resident hid in a closet and phoned a neighbor, saying there was a robbery in progress, Paulk said. The neighbor, Boothe, came over with a pistol but was himself shot to death, Jones said.
After the four teens left in the same car, a witness followed them and relayed a car description and location to 911, the sheriff said. The four suspects were stopped and arrested about 20 minutes after the shooting, he said.

Note that the first line saying the race of the Perps and the race of the Victim is notably missing.
With Jacob Blake, Floyd, Rittenhouse, and on and on race was the primary importance of the reporting.
.
Called a neighbor instead of 911?
The link has in its headline double murder, but I don’t see anything in the article about there being a second person murdered.
Is Valdosta GA a safe place to live? Valdosta is in the 16th percentile for safety, meaning 84% of cities are safer and 16% of cities are more dangerous https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-valdosta-ga/
The neighbor could be (and was! - armed but unlucky) there in moments, the police? Who knows how long it takes there for them to show up. Certainly the second call though...
They are indicted for only one murder at this point. It seems they offed someone else as well, but we will see.
Why not?
If you lived in the rural South, you'd know the neighbor is a lot closer than the police. It can take 1/2 an hour to summon the police in these locations, even if they drive directly.
Never heard a peep about this case until now. Sooooooo strange!!
The .22 was probably a hollow point.
You would be branded a racist for pointing out the race of the perps.
By my limited research, a White person is murdered by a black person every 8 hours or less in the US, but of course we never hear about it?
Did you hear about the homeless White man that was lit on fire and burned alive by the black homosexual in NYC the other day?
The Waukesha Massacre is already down the memory hole.
Two possibilities here. One is that these four were part of a local crime ring similar to the Dixie Mafia and just learned the patters of people in the rural area and once sure of their pattern and confident that the target(s) are away for X hours at work, they will break in and rob the place.
Other possibility is something was going on at the trailer that people wouldn't want to call the police about which is why the neighbor was called and why so much time passed before 911 was called.
“Why not?”
The outcome answers the question. Perhaps there was a reason law enforcement wasn’t called?
So these four teens, children really, were just going about their business and would have been safely away except for the interference of two vigilantes, the neighbor and the person who followed them as they drove off. This vigilantism against black children must be stopped!
