Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Kevin McCarthy ‘Doesn’t Have the Votes’ to Become Speaker if GOP Wins House
mediaite ^ | Nov 25 | By Alex Griffing

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has a podcast now, called Firebrand. He was joined by fellow pro-Trump stalwart Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who weighed in on the growing battle within the Republican Party — suggesting that House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) “doesn’t have the votes” to become speaker if the GOP flips the House in 2022.

Greene’s comments come on the heels of a recent report claiming that former President Donald Trump is keeping McCarthy on a short leash, leveraging his support for McCarthy’s speakership bid to keep him in line.

Didn't Trump support mittens and turtle in their re-elections? How did that turn out?

“President Trump is still endorsing Bush League Republicans.
Do your own research.
Grassley voted for Porkulus II and Trump endorsed him.
Rubio voted for amnesty and Trump endorsed him.
Trump endorsed McConnell, McCain, Romney, Grahamnesty and too many to list that do not support MAGA.

****

Past tense. Name me one source where Trump endorses McConell, Pierre Delecto etc after November 6 2020. It is common sense not to verbally alienate your co-workers even though you hate their guts.

I work in Hollywood and you have no effing clue how many times I want to strangle every faggot at the mandatory weekly studio meetings.

...suggesting that House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) “doesn’t have the votes” to become speaker if the GOP flips the House in 2022...

Doesn't that depend on the size of the gain and the makeup of the new majority?

Just remember that should the GOP win in Nov 2022, it will be the lame-duck House that nominates the individual member to be placed for election before the new House. Seldom if ever, is the nominee beaten at this point.

Give Bill Gates a share of your patent and pretty soon billions of people, for better or worse, will have your teflon ears.

“Put Jim Jordan or one of the other Freedom Caucus members in as Speaker of the House. Then clean the house!”

Jordan ran against McCarthy for minority leader in 2018. McCarthy won by a vote of 159-43.

Big donors will determine if McCarthy becomes Speaker should the Republicans take the House. The big money is with RINO’s, not with the Freedom Caucus. Only about 50 GOP representatives are members of the Freedom Caucus.

The speaker is chosen by the party caucus of the new Congress.
So you won’t know until after the election (Nov ‘22).

“(Hastert has to be last due to his crimes, but he wasn’t bad in office)”

Hastert was the king of pork and earmarks when the Republicans controlled the House during his speakership. Any pretense of fiscal responsibility ended during his tenure. Don’t forget the accumulated federal deficit since the founding doubled during his years as Speaker. The Constitution gives the House responsibility for every appropriation by the federal government. I remember well Hastert couldn’t say no to pork, and George W. Bush could not find his veto pen.

MTG rocks!

Btw, few know this, but the way the system is set up now, the primary job of The Speaker is to raise money for the party.

Also, every committee Chair has to rase a certain amount evey year. For the party. There is a menu of prices, depending on importance of position.

For real.

“Congressional ‘dues’ help garner good committee assignments
It’s not a what-if. It’s true. Members are charged “dues” for good committee assignments, and more if they hope to become committee chairs...”

Trump has shown excessive nitwittery when it comes to personnel and personal endorsements. He is clearly seduced by sweet nothings whispered in his ear. I was overall delighted with his performance in office, but this Achilles Heel of self-glorification was the undoing of his tenure. His much vaunted and self-proclaimed genius at deal-making was a figment of his imagination and got him nothing in the end.

For me to support him in 2024 he will have to persuade me he has learned some foundational lessons from the 2020 experience. Thus far he is falling way short of that.

“Right now, from the people I talked to, he doesn’t have the votes. I think there’s a door open for a challenger.”

A Democrat challenger that is.
Just like in 2016, conservative Congressmen hamstrunk President Trump, and almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, then the conservative maverick, John McCain did just that.

She should (sometimes) shut up and get victory over the socialist democrats first.
