A new COVID-19 variant of "serious concern" has been detected in South Africa, scientists said at a press conference on Thursday.
“Here is a mutation variant of serious concern,” South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla said at the media briefing, Bloomberg reported. “We were hopeful that we might have a longer break in between waves — possibly that it would hold off to late December or even next year January.”

Back around eight months ago, there was a South African report out on a gal who was at a AIDs treatment center, and she had developed (late 2020) case of Covid. They had been doing week by week blood tests on her already before (I would assume experimental AIDs drugs).
About every couple of days...blood was drawn and she had a new variant of Covid in her system. It’d modify itself almost weekly. What I thought was interesting about this (they were working on 3 months of data)...she never got over Covid. Whatever drugs she was taking...was keeping Covid at bay, but it never hitting a peak and wrapping up. Covid was acting like ‘if I can’t do X, I’ll just modify into Y and see how far I can go’.
They’d written the report and published it....keeping the gal safely in some type of quarantine. Looking at this story...I’d be asking if it’s the same clinic, with the same issues.
The little pipsqueak Trudeau of Canada has announced a deal with Pfizer to provide millions of shots in 2022 and 2023, and an option for 60 million doses in 2024. The population of Canada is 38 million people, so that tells me they’re planning multiple yearly boosters.
They intend to keep this thing going forever.
