I’m in Upstate NY. Beef is very high here. Everything is high here. I did buy the frozen wings at Aldi for the very first time yesterday at $11.59. They’re great for a single person. Used Dinosaur BBQ sauce for the first time. Very Good.

I over heard someone ask at a employee for sweet potato pie. They said they ran out. Stores were sent 3, 6 or 10 cases based on prev sales. However, they said in past years they sold 10-15 cases but only got three.

Since pumpkin pie is daughter's favorite, I went to the supermarket this morning shortly after they opened, and managed to get one before they ran out again. I also got some half-and-half, since they keep running out of that too.

upstate ny here as well. my husband does the grocery shopping and cooking. it is just the two of us but a thrifty shopper he is NOT. He often overbuys; he likes his steak and will continue to buy it even if it goes to $100 a lb! Just in time for my retirement January 7th. At which time I will be taking back the grocery shopping and kitchen.

I will be down to just managing his biz and the rental property (which is likely to be sold at this rate with the gov’t moratoriums still in place here)

EXACTLY! The only problem I’ve had at the grocery is all the employees blocking the isles restocking, because everybody seems to be in a buying frenzy. Nothing I wanted was unavailable. Expensive, yes! Out of stock? nothing. I’m in Pennsylvania, and everything here is well supplied.

You know, it does us no good to be adopting the liberal policies of lying to try to make points.

Yep. The only thing I've seen suggesting a real shortage of something has nothing to do with food, but with roofing supplies, i.e., shingles. In July they started reroofing a community center near me, tore off the old roof, and laid down the tar paper or whatever forms the bottom layer. Then work stopped. A month later, when the rainy season approached, they covered the whole roof with plastic sheeting, which is how it remains. I'm assuming they can't get the shingles they wanted.

Today, I went to the store to pick up a few items, including cream cheese. The first store I went to was almost out of it, and didn't have the flavors I wanted (regular and onion/chive). So I went to another store six blocks away and they were well-stocked with every flavor. Most empty shelves right now are probably due to the Thanksgiving rush for certain items.

Kroger’s has had worker shortages, food shortages, sales items didn’t come in. But Sunday the 1 I use had 2 cases of Turkey’s. But many items missing on the shelves. These shortages have been going on 2 + months now. And our county is mask less, except the workers, company policy across the shopping, eating places.

I ended up buying a Wal-Mart lesser Butterball Turkey. No pop up timer, no gravy, had only neck & gizzard.

College kids grabbing up frozen meals and Ramen noodles.

We’ve not had sales on most canned foods, Pizza, frozen meals, crap seniors don’t buy we are label readers of necessity. Plus stores have gone to buy 6 to save $5.00 on higher priced food, or the 10 for $10 stuff is picked off fast. TP is overpriced, but necessary. 2 checkers = longer lines.

Lots of people went back to Costco/Sam’s.

I see you’re in TN (hello neighbor :) ) ; I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I’m in East Central MO and my small town has, overall, been well stocked. Yeah, there are things that are ‘out of stock’ but they do get replenished at some point. As someone else mentioned, it’s nothing like the empty shelves of last year during the insane TP & sanitizer shortages. Anyway, we got a Honeysuckle Turkey and there were more, plenty. Also, I’m not a big ‘name brand’ buyer. Most of what I buy is the off label/store brands and so far, I haven’t had any problems. Knock on wood.
