He was running, as in exercising, in that neighborhood. If I was a black guy and a couple of white guys with guns came running after me I would have kept running. He may have been afraid of being shot regardless so he tried to defend himself. It is Georgia afterall, old thoughts die slowly.
According to Brandon Tatum, they had the right of citizen’s arrest, under state law.
