Weaponizing of vehicles is a practice sometimes used by terrorists abroad. But the wanton attacks have also surged in the United States.
Before a red SUV smashed into parade marchers Sunday in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the driver first plowed through barriers and raced past a police officer at a security post.
As horrible as the incident sounds, the brazenness of the vehicle assault is not altogether unusual.
The incident, which left five dead and at least 40 injured, raises new questions about the best security practices to protect crowds from a proliferating phenomenon known as “vehicle ramming.”

A Boston Globe survey identified at least 139 incidents where vehicles rammed into crowds of demonstrators since Floyd’s death in May of 2020. Fewer than half resulted in criminal charges.
Less than half????
The attack in Waukesha does not fit the demonstrator profile: Parade victims were simply celebrating Christmas, and Police Chief Dan Thompson stressed in a news conference that the carnage was not an act of terrorism. Instead, the driver identified as Darrell Brooks Jr., allegedly was fleeing the scene of an earlier domestic violence incident when the assault happened.
Once again, the authorities rule out terrorism, when it is obvious it was.

Maybe a background check before buying or renting a vehicle?
Limiting milage?
Lower quantity gas tanks?
... especially when there are “crowds” of marxists blocking highways.
Well that’s it then! What we need is commonsense weaponized vehicle control legislation!
The police should simply purchase old but still-operating vehicles and use THEM as roadblocks.. not plastic barricades.

We need more car control laws. SUVs should be banned, certainly deemed as dangerous as an an AR15. If we took the SUVs away thus would never have happened. Buy WE didn’t so this must be our fault and America’s. (Imagine, as a liberal, having that logic rule your day. No wonder they are so screwed up).
Pothead drivers are killing more people in my neck of the woods.
But I don’t see Deep State getting medieval on those heinies.

Background checks on the vehicle or the buyer/renter? Well known that SUVs are a criminal class who have been involved in numerous incidents. There should be a three strike rule for SUVs.
Perhaps more law abiding citizens with concealed carry permits.
As this @$$ hat began plowing through the crowd, a well placed round through the drivers side window may have halted this attack. I dunno, just sayin.
Later reports said Brooks was not fleeing police so that makes him a terrorist. Either way you look at it, even if he was fleeing police, he could have chosen to stop instead of plowing through people. One report tried to say he stopped and tried to help some victims. Yeah, right!!

Wonder if a vehicle, if it has collision avoidance or self-driving features like some already have, would have stopped automatically before running into those people?
Another fear porn agenda in the making. I seem to recall several incidents recently where these happened because of medical issues. Maybe that’s why over half never were charged.
The damn left in this country would love to see people frozen in fear afraid to leave their house. It’s bad enough we have people driving and walking around by themselves wearing face diapers. The left enjoys the power over people…refuse to participate.

So now we need what? Car control is Christmas Parade control so cars driven by loons have nothing to plow into.
So confusing.
To me, there is no question at all. The only solution is quite simple: We must treat BLM as exactly what it is - Domestic Terrorism. Instead of focusing on parents criticizing school boards, we need to focus on the real domestic terrorists - BLM. Virtually every real act of domestic terror in the US in the last two years has been from BLM and its woke paymasters. We also need to go after vehicle ramming terrorist acts from Muslim foreign terrorists.
