Figuring out a motive is not the same as asking for it. Bin Laden was furious that the infidel had its troops on sacred soil (Saudi Arabia). What makes you think the US can go around putting troops in various countries, especially in Muslim countries, and there won’t be blowback? And again, if we had stayed out of the whole mess and not let Muslims into the US, 9/11 would not have happened. Bin Laden would have spent his energy fighting Saddam, and we could have watched all the fun.
