The new normal? Bay Area is hit by THIRD consecutive day of looting as 50-strong hammer gang storms jewelry store after Macy's and Lululemon stores were hit: Thieves take advantage of woke 'misdemeanor' law

The San Francisco Bay Area faced a third consecutive day of brazen shoplifting on Sunday

A group of about 40 to 50 teenage looters wielding hammers smashed glass cases at a Hayward jewelry store and ran off with an unknown amount of goods at around 5.30pm Sunday The suspects also reportedly ran into other stores in the Southland Mall and walked away with clothes and shoes, though police do not know how many items were stolen Just about an hour later, in San Jose, a group of suspects entered a Lululemon store in the outdoor mall at Santana Row and took an unknown amount of merchandise before they fled the scene

The thefts come one day after a group of 80 brazen shoplifters entered a Nordstrom in nearby Walnut Creek Three people were arrested in that incident, in which three employees were injured

And on Friday, a Luis Vuitton store in San Francisco's Union Square was targeted and ransacked by a group of more than a dozen thieves

Residents in the business owners in the area cite a 2014 law that downgraded the theft of property less than $950 in value from a felony charge to a misdemeanor for the rise in thefts They also blame woke San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin for a rise in crime - he now faces a recall election amid fury over his soft-on-crime stance

Escalation like is a very real potential problem...that is partly what the theory of “broken windows” is based on.

Store owners need machine guns!

Perhaps a miscreant surreptitiously spikes a tire on some cars. Or perhaps a sidewall on some of the cars fails. The only way they are egressing that area is by vehicle. If some vehicles have some mechanical failures, that would be... interesting.

My opinion is that any store owner who used lethal force in California would probably end up not just broke, but also in jail.

I vaguely recall those Koreans store owners did not fair all that well in the long term, due to retaliation, but I cannot remember any details.

Shoot all rioters, looters & arsonists.

This would be a great time to setup a "bait" store.......

Some people seem to enjoy arson and mayhem; I doubt any vendor would be spared. They do not have to READ those books...they might just burn them for fun, entertainment and to get back at the perceived white oppressors.

Then “journalists” write articles about how minority neighborhoods are under served by a racist system.

It's organized crime alright. There's a weakness they're going to exploit for as long as they can get away with it. What they don't keep for themselves for the fam or use for trade, the rest goes to Ebay, Craigslist, Buy & Sell pages and so forth eventually. They'll keep dipping and spreading their operation further afield until stopped somehow. Probably when they run into a jurisdiction with some aggression.

I feel sorry for the store owners. Their insurance is gonna go through the roof,

And who do you suppose will end up paying for those increased premiums. We all will.

You mean that urban youts wouldn’t jump at the chance to get their own copy of Das Kapital? I’m shocked.

Ok no cars in a certain zone and no hammers.... Got it!

Question what if that does not solve the problem?

Once the looting started hitting stores where ‘elites’ shop - democrats will take notice. If working people lose their stores like Walgreens liberals ‘elites’ don’t give a damn...but THEIR STORES? That’s a different story.

I hate these people...

The yutes have been looting high-dollar stores, and the Democrats simply don’t care.

Our family used to travel to San Francisco frequently.

Me too, and still do on rare occasions. Was there on a Friday night a few weeks ago and stopped off near Pier 39 to grab a bite and a drink or 2. Walked into the Hard Rock and the place was a ghost town. The whole area was nearly deserted. Normally it would have been packed but I guess with the crime, pan handling and feces on the sidewalks, nobody goes to SF any more.
