It’s magic, it comes from a hole in the wall.
Seems rather silly to me. I can see the morons mandating Volt/Amp hookups, but how can they mandate actual charging boxes? If you have a Tesla charging station are you required to leave it and buy a new one if you move?
We are seeing so called conservatives around this world showing their true colors. From Doug Ford in Ontario Canada and his draconian COVID measures, the government in Australia with their curfews, and now Boris,
She sounds like a real gem. It’s hard to believe sometimes that people like that exist.
More than we ever knew at this point
If the Tesla charging stations are 50 amp, 240 volt power outlets, what is to stop the homeless from parking their derelict RV’s in the local charging kiosk of 20 spots at the mini-mall? Hell, when I go RVing, I think I will just park at the Tesla free energy portal.
Isn’t 220 standard over there? So that’s an outlet near where you park. So what.
Tessa charge portals have a two way protocol for charging to commence. When you plug into a tesla charger it sends a digital signal down the line to the plugged in car which can only be a tesla. The tesla replies with its identification information and depending on if that Tesla is authorised for free charging use or is to be billed for the energy is determined. Once that is negotiated then the charger determines what level of charge that particular model of Tesla will accept. Simply put unless you have a Tesla that is up to date with the Tesla charge standard you cannot plug into a Tesla charge portal they are dead sockets until the whole protocol exchange is completed. This keeps non Tesla cars from charging at Tesla facilities and they have no plans of ever changing this security permission protocol. Forget about using a Tesla protal with a nontesla plug even the plug is proprietary and the protocol is encrypted and also proprietary.
WOW, I would be willing to bet that the taxpayer paid a pretty penny for subsidies on that also.
