Trayvon was no saint. Recall that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon in self defense. Trayvon instigated the assault because Zimmerman, who was on neighborhood patrol, was eying him suspiciously. The assault escalated to where Trayvon was bashing Zimmerman’s head against the pavement. Zimmerman, identified as a white Hispanic, not quite a white supremacist, was found not guilty.

What a juvenile bunch of garbage. Adolescent sarcasm is not an appropriate style for a writer who wants to be taken seriously. I am assuming he’s an affirmative action hire.
Not a bad idea - everyone who wants to ban or restrict firearms should be required to turn their own guns in to police departments, before tragedy strikes.
Why is that?
On a flight a few years back, I spent an hour or two talking to an elderly gent in the neighboring seat. He had immigrated from Hungary as a young man, and found a job in Chicago. Once, he told me, his life had been threatened: it was such a serious threat, that he went home to his apartment, locked his door, and loaded his shotgun. Not long after, someone knocked on the door - and he almost fired the shotgun through the door. Instead, even though he was terrified, he opened the door - to discover it was NOT the person[s] who had threatened to kill him. Because he had nearly killed an innocent person, he soon sold his shotgun, and had supported gun bans & restrictions ever since.
An awful lot of liberals 'project'; they attribute to others, the same thoughts and motivations they have themselves. The old man on the plane did not trust himself with a gun, because he was once a split second away from negligently killing someone. And he thinks YOU are just like him; he therefore believes NOBODY should be allowed to own a firearm.
And now for the scary part - think about all of the unbalanced libs who have been attributing evil intentions (racism, blood-lust, dishonesty, greed, etc., etc., etc.) to Kyle Rittenhouse, Donald Trump, or [fill-in-the-blank]. Why do they think Rittenhouse killed those guys in cold blood? Because that's exactly what a lot of them would do, if the had an AR in their hands and saw someone on the street with a MAGA hat (or the wrong color skin). Why do some progressives still push the discredited "Russian collusion" hoax? Because they would sell out the country in a New York second, and figure everyone else is the same.
Projection - it's a 'liberal' way of life...
