A Navy shipbuilding company has ended its vaccine mandate after workers threatened to quit and the Navy confirmed it did not require the mandate.
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), the parent company of Newport News Shipbuilding, is the world’s only manufacturer of the U.S. Navy’s nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. The company also serves as just one of two manufacturers of Virginia and Columbia Class submarines, employing more than 25,000 workers in Virginia.
Newport had previously announced plans to require all 25,000 of its workers to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8. The deadline was later moved to Jan. 4, to allow additional time.
The deadline has now been “suspended,” with the requirement ended.
“We have not wanted to lose a single employee to the virus, or to the effect of the mandate,” President and CEO Mike Petters wrote in a letter (pdf) to employees on Wednesday.

That should have been done a while back. But, good.
We live in a world of finger-wagging, “Jonnie! Did you bring enough gum for everyone?!” So, if one person gets away without getting the “vaccine” then, by the finger-wagger’s own rules, we have to let everyone out of the vaccine mandate. Fair’s fair.
(Oh, BTW, my response to that was, “This is America. Let’em buy their own gum.” For which I was duly spanked.)
Common sense prevails. They’ve been working unvaccinated for 18 months. Where’s the urgency. Companies know how to halt a breakout. Happened to my grandson...2 weeks at home. Happened to a friend who is a sheriff...2 weeks at home. No problem. Neither had Covid....but were exposed.
Suddenly, a purported “health” requirement is removed when someone’s pocketbook is threatened. Further proof this plandemic isn’t about health, but control.
The Mandate is fascist tyranny.
Make no mistake.
It needs to be rejected, with prejudice.
Both my granddaughters tested positive. A couple days of feeling yucky and it was over.
Still had to stay home for 2 weeks
So what will DOD do now? They can’t back down and will be forced to take actions. Could get interesting.

Great news! Another win for the patriots. Bullshit mandates for the sake of mandates. I can understand the active duty being mandated to minimize troop downtime but not needed for civilian ship builders.

EMERGENCY health requirement. Four months ago Brandon said it was an EMERGENCY. Until it's not.
Three of my “Friday at the Saloon” buddies had Covid. All in their 70s and all with medical problems. They all survived...and none were hospitalized.
Initially it was put "on hold" when the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the "mandate" and then issued its stay against it. The next day all communications regarding "return to office" starting in January welcomed ALL employees in North America back to the office, completely leaving out any vaccination requirements.
My employer no doubt sees the writing on the wall and our Corporate Counsel is telling our HR idiots to stop.
