The horrors the 13 Turpin children faced didn’t end when their abusive parents were locked away for life.
Both the adult and minor children of the notorious couple have struggled since they were rescued four years ago from the squalid California home where they were chained, beaten and starved until one sister managed to escape and contact authorities, ABC News reported.
Some of the older siblings have resorted to couch surfing because they didn’t have secure homes.
Five of the younger kids spent time in foster homes where there were accusations of child abuse, and charges have been filed that at least one of the Turpins was a victim, the outlet reported.

The siblings have had trouble accessing the $600,000 that was donated by strangers to help them after their case was revealed. Riverside County officials would not provide ABC with any information about the trust set up for the siblings, nor say how much has been distributed to them or why some requests — like now 29-year-old Joshua Turpin’s ask for a bicycle so he’d have some transportation — were denied.
Recent court filings show the court-appointed public guardian failed to file the annual accounting for the trust set up with the money, leaving the family’s finances opaque, ABC reported.
“They have been victimized again by the system,” Mike Hestrin, the Riverside County district attorney who prosecuted David and Louise Turpin told ABC.

Even worse, is that five of the younger children were placed for three years with a foster care family where abuse allegedly took place. ABC reported that they had been adopted by that family in October 2019, while the alleged abuse was occurring. Details of the exact allegations were not revealed.

But people think that more government can help them.
“If we can’t care for the Turpin victims,” “then how do we have a chance to care for anyone?”
This is the qoute of the century here.
Wife watched this, and I was sort of half watching it from the next room. Quite the horror show.
Well.. like the retirees say, I paid my taxes. Then they trust the government to honor that. Lunacy.
I am surprised people did not donate more money to them. They are probably so damaged, they really need extra help. $600k for 13 people is not much.
They gave money to an addict. That’s what taxes are, a hustle for money and power in a government run by addicts.

It’s not a lot of money for 13 people to live on, but it could help them. Instead, it’s in a trust overseen by a court-appointed guardian.
One son just wanted to buy a bike for transportation, and his request was denied. Meanwhile, the adult children are living in high-crime neighborhoods, and one was assaulted.
They are resilient, though, with jobs and college and so on.
I watched it online. The 17yo who escaped and saved the others is 21 now. She earned a high school diploma in one year and now works and takes college courses. Amazing!
Is there a shortage of rope and lampposts in California?
And we are taking in illegals left and right.
We’re from the government and we’re here to help.
LOL.
Government is force. They are good at nothing but force.
