..................... "Alec Baldwin intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired the loaded gun even though the upcoming scene to be filmed did not call for the cocking and firing of a firearm," the lawsuit alleges.
According to the lawsuit, script supervisor Mamie Mitchell was standing four feet away when Baldwin fired the Colt .45 revolver and suffered injuries herself.

The lawsuit also says Baldwin should have checked the gun, the armorer should have not allowed it out of her sight, and they hired an inexperienced armorer and gave her other duties.
If this had been a mother who sent strong words to her school board she would be lying on the floor with her hands behind her head while agents go through her papers.
Luckily for him he’s a certified liberal and so he escapes the long arm of the law.
We are now seeing why hateful Alec reacted how he did. He knew if it came out, his behind was toast.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer fella. Too bad a woman had to die.
If I pull a gun out of the safe, I confirm it is unloaded, even if I was the last one to handle it. Pull the bolt back or rack the the slide. I surprised myself with a snap cap one time.
He did plenty wrong, and do did many others. But which scene was going set up for filming had no relevance.
The script supervisor’s lawsuit alleges he was not practicing gun handling, but cocked and fired it at the woman out of the blue. Presumably, she thinks he thought it was unloaded but she is not sure.
That should keep him busy for a while and hopefully out of sight
Reportedly, it was at the end of a long day, and they were having problems with one scene; when the Asst. Director said they needed to re-shoot it again, Baldwin (trying to be clever) said, “We need to shoot it again? How about I shoot you instead?” and aimed & shot at her
but that still doesn’t explain why a live round was in the gun ... there were some reports of people shooting real bullets with the guns earlier that morning
If someone thinks it is not loaded, but does not check, and cocks, aims, and fires it at someone 4 feet away, I would think that person would usually be charged with at least manslaughter.
Baldwin is the big fish with ready cash in the pond. He’s reportedly worth $60M and there are plenty of other little fish in that pond hiring lawyers who are gonna get it all.... Sucks to be him.... hahahaha...
And this is exactly the comment I read on another website around the day after this incident happened. Alec Baldwin was having a little tiff and said "how about I shoot you?" Or some such thing.
That anonymous commenter who claimed they were on the set at the time appears to have been legit.
some slides even have a notch in them where you can see a cartridge is in them
but usually people develop a habit of always assuming its loaded
Except... It was the cinematographer who he shot not the AD.
These people who were there and did not get shot are not going to get big settlements. However, Baldwin and the production companies have lots of money and are both clearly negligent, so they will get something. The people who got shot or their survivors will get big settlements. Not sure if the insurers will pay much.
Baldwin will not go broke over this. It is about as clear a case of manslaughter as there is and an ordinary person would have been charged a while ago.
Agree...but the husband of the woman who died still hasn’t weighed in yet with his lawyer and subsequent suit yet to my knowledge. And there is at least enough confusion and disagreement about shoulda/coulda/woulda for him to go after the bulk of Baldwin’s money. We’ll have to see but with that much money involved he ain’t ‘sitting pretty’ in my book...
Both were shot.
Alec knowing everything there is to know about guns(puke) his political arrogance killed
