The top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee blasted Republicans on Thursday for “vile attacks” on President Biden’s pick intended to make her a “Marxist boogeyman.”
Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), chairman of the Banking panel, ripped Republicans for efforts to “degrade” the confirmation process for Saule Omarova, who Biden nominated to lead the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
Omarova, a law professor at Cornell University, was born and raised in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan before emigrating to the U.S. While she has been a U.S. citizen since 2005 and served in the George W. Bush administration, Senate Republicans have pressured Omarova to release a thesis on Karl Marx’s economic analysis she wrote as an undergraduate at Moscow State University nearly 40 years ago.

The thesis should be released, but she has made a ton of other statements that justify rejecting her nomination on their own.
Well, she IS a Marxist boogeyman that desires an important sector of our economy to go bankrupt. Biden is effectively a traitor for even nominating her.

A “Marxist boogeyman” is a perfectly apt description except I would say “Marxist Boogeywoman”.
Well, the state just keeps getting bigger and bigger over the last 20-30 years.
If she was remotely skeptical about the current economic policy she would be torpedoed by even her own party.
They want “yes” men (and women) who will carry on the great expansion of government
She should fit in fine and win confirmation probably with help from the GOP.
Calling a hardcore Marxist/Communist (who wrote a thesis on Karl Marx’s economic policies at Moscow State University) a “Marxist boogeyman” is a “vile attack.”

The only thing wrong with the “vile attacks”, is that up to now, they have not been nearly vile enough.
This female is the ultimate Karen, who knows so much better than any of us what is “good” for us.
Command-and-control is NEVER good for anybody.
Any criticism, not matter how valid or warranted, will always be met with cries of "RASCIMS!" to cover up their failures.
