Why would the defense wants a mistrial???
Why not go for acquittal ..if “guilty “ he can appeal.
Not going to happen.
This judge is terrified of the mob.
The defense could call for a mistrial, but, based upon their behavior so far, they won't.
Also, this judge will NEVER grant a mistrial. He's running scared of the mob.
Disbarment won’t happen. But they ought to be fired from the prosecutor’s office, and left to form the sleazy solo practice that better fits them. Ambulances to chase. Wills to draw up. That sort of thing.

I assume that both videos were provided by the prosecution. WHY are there two versions, one low res and one with better resolution? Was the low res version doctored to lower the resolution, or was the high resolution video made by “ enhancing” the low res one? Either way this looks like evidence tampering.
Not really a “burning question”. Judge can redirect the verdict on any and all charges as a matter of Law.
If the judge is so scared of the mob, calling a mistrial would give the prosecution a second bite at the apple. The judge would basically skate.
I think it’s his own arrogance that makes him not declare a mistrial. In his mind he thinks the only judge that could give Kyle a fair trial is himself, even though he’s let all kinds of stuff slip through that were unfair.
I use the UPS website at work. It seems like the people on their splash screens are always black. Fedex is almost as bad.
