Oh my God.. the scooters.
I drive uber in Fayetteville Arkansas (woo pig) and these things are scattered everywhere.
We had the Walmart public bikes too. That program lasted literally a week before they were all gone. I sometimes see them behind houses or piled up in the homeless camps.
I hate what it does to men. Men are to be the protectors of women and children and it turns them into the opposite. Grotesque and so tragic.
I’d outlaw it immediately if I were king, myself. The longest journey begins with a single step.
They have to be losing money on these scooters. They only reason I think they are still in business is because they are subsidized.
For example in SF they get free chunks of parking set aside just for them
on the street. Free! value in the several thousands. Myself I pay to park my personal car but Lyme etc get to run a business on public streets for free.
If they had to have storefronts and parking lots of their own they would not be around.
As noted, I would not outlaw it - if I was “the king,” however, ruling over a population, I would make it a crime to make porn available - so holding it, in other words - and I would incriminate producing it, ie, having a studio, hiring actors. I wouldn’t go after the pathetic people who get trapped in it, the so-called “actors,” and I wouldn’t make it illegal to be caught with porn that you’ve bought, unless it was clear you were buying it in quantity for sale.
But I’m not the king. At least not yet! :D And I’m not optimistic about how things are going right now. It’ll get worse before it gets better. There’s a culling taking place and while it might not be a mortal offense to take pity on the lost and try to help them, there could be mortal consequences anyway.
My younger daughter is also recently divorced from a great guy, which was totally her decision. She spent a lot of time “camming” and their sex life was also nonexistent. Porn has ruined a lot of millennial relationships, IMO.
Wow that’s harsh. Yeah I find that even a few seconds of exposure to porn - especially if I wasn’t expecting to see it - will stick with me for a long time. Not in the way the producers intend for it to, either. I don’t remember what the body parts are doing so much as the empty, angry faces. People losing their souls, bit by bit (and sometimes all in one fell swoop). Faces of drug addicts who are only thinking of the next fix. Faces of desperate people who owe money to some gang. Faces of people who get caught in something they think is a lark and an easy way to make money, realizing this is going to be it, this is the way it’s going to stay and it wasn’t just a lark.
Your son and daughter are still young; they can always change. Pray for ‘em.
I pray for them both, and their spouses, when I say my Rosary. My middle child is married to a great guy who adores her and they have 2 gorgeous kids. She’s done everything right in her life, while the other 2 have always chosen a more difficult path. I love all 3 the same, but it’s hard to watch those 2 make such heart wrenching choices for themselves. I have to hope that everything works out the way it’s supposed to in order to put my mind at ease.
From my own perspective as a “bad kid,” try to feel reassured that they will probably straighten up at some point, maybe in the near future. They’ll need you for something.
