NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claimed the January 6 storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters was an attack on the values of NATO in a highly-discussed interview with Axios reporter Jonathan Swan.
During the ‘Axios on HBO’ interview, which aired on Sunday, Stoltenberg said he regarded the Capitol storming “as an attack on the core democratic institutions of the United States and therefore also on core values of NATO.”

And now we see why NATO is a dangerous thing for America. American citizens are violating NATO values. And now there is a NATO command headquarters base in Norfolk VA.
Patriots should be keeping a close eye on these foreign enemies.

This jerk doesn’t even know the facts and yet he shoots his mouth off. Most of the people crashing the Capitol January 6 were carefully orchestrated ANTIFA creeps, not Trump supporters. And what does Mr. Dimwit have to say about the atrocious conditions the Trump supporters are being kept in, in their DC jail? Even murderers and terrorists are treated better.
1. Without the United States Military, there is no NATO. One of the things that President Trump clearly and rightly pointed out during his presidency. These people are still mad that he made them actually write the checks they’ve owed for years.
2. While NATO forces participated in the GWOT, they still relied on the US for darn near everything.
3. Most folks in this country probably couldn’t tell you what NATO stands for.
4. The only people that might and it’s a big, MIGHT, care about what this guy has to say is some PoliSci professor somewhere, who will use it to indoctrinate their students even more and Orange Man Bad.
5. Unfortunately, President Trump wasn’t able to withdraw the US from NATO nor kick the UN out of NYC. Two things that would have been wonderful had he done them.

Turkey was an early member of NATO (70 years ago) and joined before (West) Germany. It’s membership was useful to the US/UK, post WWII - and that’s still true today.
NATO has no reason for its existence now, period.

You are exactly correct. The European members of NATO couldn’t fund their bloated welfare states if they had to maintain a credible defense that didn’t rely upon the U.S. military. U.S. taxpayers have indirectly been funding European welfare programs, and Trump was well aware of the little scam that the Euros had been getting away with.
NATO values? Legitimize corrupt elections? Sounds about right.
