TECH Apple is sticking taxpayers with part of the bill for rollout of tech giant’s digital ID card

Apple is making U.S. states foot part of the bill and provide customer support for its plan to turn iPhones into digital identification cards, according to confidential documents obtained by CNBC.

The company requires states to maintain the systems needed to issue and service credentials, hire project managers to respond to Apple inquiries, prominently market the new feature and push for its adoption with other government agencies, all at taxpayer expense, according to contracts signed by four states.

Apple announced in June that its users could soon store state-issued identification cards in the iPhone’s Wallet app, billing it as a more secure and convenient way for customers to provide credentials in a variety of in-person and remote setting...

...But the move has brought questions from industry observers about why local authorities are ceding control of citizens’ identities to a $2.46 trillion private corporation....

This is a case of The Man sticking it to The (other) Man... What conniving rip-off artists Apple turned out to be, eff ‘em and I never buy their craps anyway.

“In case you needed any more reasons to ditch Apple.”

I wish I could, but how can I ditch what I have never bought and owned? I have never bought any Apple craps. They are a CCP mini-me in America. Same as Facebook and GooGoo.

We should all reject digital ID. They intend to link everything - the usual ID info, whether you’ve been vaxxed, your financial situation, etc., etc. It’s endless, the info they want to track. All part of the Great Reset & the enslavement of every person on this planet.

Only the beginning folks. This is looking a lot like the mark of the beast.

Optional now but considering how our dictators have handled the masks and vaccines, it won’t be surprising if they force everyone to get an ID... that can eventually be transferred to a person’s body in the form of a mark in the forehead or hand.

And if you trust a behemoth like Apple with your personal information and security. I don't. No matter how many times they promise me that they won't use my personal information. Because they will, guaranteed.

Nor do I trust Microsoft/Bill Gates, Google, Facebook, Twitter,... general social media.

FR is okay but you can expect that there are Three Letter Agency people on FR and tracking and monitoring all communication. Use FR with this in mind. But this goes without saying.

Here is a good resource... educate yourself.

Case in point: the Mrs. and I went to the store one time and we left in a bit of a rush. So, we get to the store, I’m walking along and it hit me- I forgot my wallet, but guess what I didn’t forget- MY PISTOL…
Here I am, no drivers’ license (ID) and NO CCL! It was well concealed, but I was freaking out. I told my wife “I gotta go home for a minute”. I was so afraid that something might happen, I drove the 5 minutes home, retrieved my wallet and went back to the store. I know, it was unnecessary, but it would just be my luck…
I have an iPhone, not sure if I’ll do it, but it sure seems a good enough reason.

There is SO MUCH that we can call “ the mark of the beast” will we really know when it does show up?
NOT being sarcastic or critical in any way, but there is so much they can do with technology, how will we know for sure what it is?

No way I am giving them the tools to track me—and then “opting out”.

So you must be a fan of Android, the Google OS whose tracking cannot be turned off, who sells your data for fun and profit to the highest bidder?

considering the retail price of an iphone, ($1200 now?)

For the high end - which is price-wise comparable to the high end Google Androids.

NEW:
Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Enabled 128GB (Unlocked) - Cosmic Gray 1,199.99
Samsung - Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 256GB - Phantom Green (T-Mobile) $1,799.99

NEW:
iPhone 13 Pro $999 - $1,499.00 (1TB Unlocked)
iPhone 13 Pro Max $1099 - 1,599.00 (1TB Unlocked)
iPhone 12 $699 - $879.00 (256GB Unlocked)

Refurbished:
iPhone XS 64GB - Silver (Unlocked) $559.00
iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB - Silver (Unlocked) $1,019.00
many models in between.

Your point being?

telescope115, it is right around the corner.

Requiring that someone carry an “id” with them is definitely closer to the mark of the beast. It will be justified at first to “make our lives convenient.”

1. Making it “convenient” by inserting an rfid into the palm of a person... they already do that right now with animals. Humans, people, would willingly accept the device inserted into them for “convenience.” Wouldn't it be nice to not to have to carry an id of any kind. You could “leave your billfold home.”

2. People are so willing and eager to get the jab so that “life will be back to normal” that people would be willing to “get the jab” to insert an rfid into their bodies. I am just suggesting rfid because that is the current technology. I doubt that it would be some kind of tattoo since an rfid is so much easier. The government has learned that they can blackmail people into complying.

3. The federal government has shown to us very clearly that they willing to prevent people from “participating in society” if they refuse the vaccine. Easy peasy to expect that same government to prevent people from “participating in society” if they refuse to the “mark” rfid.

4. The rfid device would track all transactions. It might even track whenever you have entered a store, restaurant, have passed a marker in a city, entered your home, apartment. Your unique id will be directly tied you your credit account and bank accounts. Your rfid can be immediately disabled within this system. If you are non-complaint for this reason.

5. "For our own safety," currency transactions have stopped or are very limited. Some places no longer accept cash and will only accept electronic transactions (with a credit card which has an rfid device). There will come a time when cash is obsolete. Again, for our own safety and to prevent spreading covid or whatever future pandemic virus.

Lol. Wow. It appears that the mobile phone is pricing themselves out of the market.

These gadgets are quickly approaching limit of affordability. What do you need a phone for? Telephone calls, and maybe data through wifi and telephone provider.

Being pragmatic... for $1000? More realistic is $500. But remember that if it is free than big brother is making money off you by monitoring your activities — re: Android devices.

Comments:

1. You really don't need the best display possible. Maybe a high definition TV in your living room but not a 4”, 5” display. Heck, most of us cannot tell the difference.

2. Do you need multiple cameras? A single basic HD camera that can shoot video and still is sufficient.

3. Processor power? Again, it is a mobile device. I'd prefer a full keyboard and mouse and a large display if I am going to use the device for work.

As much as I like the idea that the mobile phone platform pushes the technology, it is simply a terrible value. Yes, you can get creative with credit or include the unit price in the monthly phone bill, but it is a huge waste in my opinion.

Nice to see that Apple is becoming more competitive. However, it bugs me that planned obsolescence is designed into the devices. Apparently, you cannot repair the newer devices.

This guy has a lot of videos on YouTube.

The voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers in the marketplace free from government interference - The Free Market - will through open and free competition naturally weed out wrong-headed product development, out-of-line prices, and lousy customer service. But it takes time. But it’s worth it. Buyers in their God-given self-interest will flow to the best quality at the best price and go for the best value.

The companies most focused on customer satisfaction usually are the ones that come out ahead in the Free Market.
