(CNN)President Joe Biden's approval rating is at its lowest point since he took office. His approval rating has slid into the low 40s this month. And while the President has plenty of time to recover before his potential reelection in 2024, history suggests that his chances of becoming popular and Democrats gaining ground by the midterms in 2022 are small.
Take a look at every president's net approval rating (approval - disapproval) since the end of World War II. Biden's at about -9 points net approval rating right now. Specifically, we'll examine all elected presidents at this point into their first term and compare that to where they stood during their first midterm. It turns out that among elected presidents there's actually a pretty clear correlation (+0.83 on a scale of -1 to +1) between their net approval rating at this point and a year from now. Most presidents tended to lose ground from this point forward. The average president saw his net approval rating drop by 13 points.
....Others like John F. Kennedy in 1961, Jimmy Carter in 1977 and Barack Obama in 2009 saw double-digit declines. Just one, Donald Trump in 2017, picked up appreciable support (i.e. more than 5 points) in the year before the midterm. He gained about 9 points from a nearly -20 net approval rating to about -10 points.
It shouldn't be too surprising that Trump was the only one to really see an uptick in his popularity. Over the long term, approval ratings tend to revert to the point where half the population likes someone and half dislikes. Because most presidents are popular at this point, it makes sense that their approval ratings decline. Because Trump was unpopular at this point, his approval rating had a better chance of going up.

Trump was unpopular to start with, so his approval rating went up at this period, after the lies, outright lies, slanders and canards we in media were telling about him and his agenda wore out and were replaced by reality.
From Day 1....Biden has worked against the people of this country beginning with shutting down the Keystone Pipeline and opening the borders. He has caused an economic disaster in 10 months that has devastated every sector of the economy. What a friggin’ mess....and it’s HIS mess.

The left deserve to be buried in the midterms. They can’t ever be allowed to cheat their way to power again. Democrats know how evil they are but will slip occasionally and admit it. I saw an article on a great example, “WATCH: Socialist student accidentally says that taxation is theft”, and you can give that a look at CampusReform. The left lie as you and I breath, and the trick is to call them out of their Alinsky **** right away and to their face. We know they can’t ‘win’ without cheating, so we have to be willing to volunteer as election monitors (the law says equal number of R’s and D’s from vote to counting) to prevent their attempt.
He has a country to destroy from within. He was prepaid for that via Hunter by Xi.

I remember a politically active senior once telling me that he was a Republican poll watcher. This was in Far Rockaway, NY, and they didn’t have enough Republicans to watch polls, so he changed his party affiliation to make up the number, but really he was a Dem. Never again, not even in NYC. Sleep at the wheel, wake up in the morgue.
Why are these polls showing any downside, when they can just lie. What ever happened to his 110% approval rating?
The world is obsessed with changing the climate....and they simply aren't going to change it.
I always laugh when they say that pre-industrial revolution was the right temp for the earth as if we never had floods, monstrous hurricanes, hot days....in summer (NY)....and cold in winter.
I'm 77...climate changes naturally...it always has and always will.
And it's fossil fuels that make the world go round....not solar or wind. They can be support sources....but never our only primary sources.
We'd just LOVE to have you Republicans to be poll watchers, but, you see, we have already had a lot volunteers already.

Unless Schumer gets S1 passed a few months before the 2022 election, too late to get a court ruling on it’s legality and the Democrats get complete control of the House and Senate. Then they can pass all the laws they want without any real opposition.
