Donald Trump really does live rent free in their heads, doesn’t he?
Which of course suggests a strategy….

The writers may be too young to remember The Chicago riots, the Black Panthers, the SLA, the Weather Underground, Bill Ayers, etc.
But how can they have already forgotten about the Democrat supported riots in 2020?

Must be those republicans threatening to burn the cities if Kyle Rittenhouse is convicted.

"And elements of the left have contributed to the confrontational tenor of the country’s current politics, although Democratic leaders routinely condemn violence and violent imagery."
Of course Maxine Waters' admonition to supporters had nothing to do with it.
And veritable silence when Hodgkinson almost killed Steve Scalise.
Or when Rand Paul had his ribs broken.
Oh, and nothing happened the summer of 2020.
This article sounds like more prep to excuse "action" against political opponents.
Considering the NYT is a Deep State propaganda organ, they're in the process of justifying something bad.

They get some bitchin’ weed in NYC.

What slimeballs.
How many stores have been looted by repubs?
How many stores have been burned by repubs?
How many heads have been broken by repubs?
How many police cruisers have been set on fire by repubs?
How many senate ball players have been shot by repubs?
The NYT is not the “Gray Lady”
The NYT is a paid for whore. So call it what it is.: The old gray whore.

They must be thinking of those white supremacists who just this past week threatened riots, arson and bloodshed over Eric Adams’ proposal to put undercover cops on the street so as to take their guns away.

" . . .threats of violence are becoming commonplace among a significant segment of the Republican Party."
Their evidence? Trump's comment five years ago at ONE rally about getting rid of a heckler, along with some Internet tough-talk from a bunch of nobodies. Biden and Obama also occasionally used menacing talk, as have other Democrat politicians like Maxine Waters. There is as much Internet tough-talk about violence and revolution on the left as there is on the right.
As for January 6th, that one-off disturbance which injured a few dozen police and broke a few windows paled in comparison to the summer long rioting of BLM - approved by the media and the Democrats - which saw hundreds of acts of arson against both buildings and vehicles (often police vehicles), many businesses ransacked, looted, and destroyed, well over 2,000 police injured, several murders and attempted murders, beatings of bystanders and journalists, and more than $2 billion in property damage.
But even as BLM leaders threaten further violence in New York, as leaders in Democrat cities prepare for violence in the wake of the Rittenhouse trial, the NYT pretends that violence is only a threat from the right.

"And veritable silence when Hodgkinson almost killed Steve Scalise."
That event has so effectively been flushed down the memory hole that I forgot to mention it in my post. All we ever hear about is Charlottesville. Also nearly forgotten is the murder of five Dallas cops by BLM supporters.
