THE O’KEEFE PROJECT
Powerlineblog ^ | 11/12/2021 | Scott Johnson

James O’Keefe et al. were raided under a federal search warrant procured by the FBI. Although O’Keefe was instructed to remain mum, the authorities promptly leaked news of the raid to the New York Times. All this in the matter of Ashley Biden’s diary.

Among the items seized in the raid were O’Keefe’s cell phones. Fox News reports that a court order has enjoined the Department of Justice from extracting material without judicial oversight.

BREAKING! The federal court has just ordered the DOJ to STOP extracting data from our client, journalist James O’Keefe’s phone, and ordered a hearing. Counsel for Project Veritas asked the court to do this yesterday! pic.twitter.com/nBrmf4myuj— Harmeet K. Dhillon (@pnjaban) November 11, 2021

However, the FBI had already begun its excavation and followed up with its friends at the Times. Adam Goldman and Mark Mazzetti’s have the story based on leaked documents in today’s paper.

Consider that the underlying case involved a lost or stolen diary. Compare it with the government misconduct involved in the leaks to the Times and the Times’s exploitation of the leaks. As Will Chamberlain suggests, what we have here is a deeply disgusting Biden administration scandal in which the Times is an instrument and O’Keefe/Project Veritas are the intended roadkill.

The FBI raided Project Veritas on a pretext and is now leaking their privileged communications to the New York Times

The judge came up short. They should be returned, like yesterday…

So when is a “lost” diary a federal crime?

Perhaps only Putin has an inherent understanding and recognition as to what and how the FBI, an organization that he once feared, has devolved. Putin can recognize the work of commissars and must be amused.

My guess is that the FBI is already finished with the phones. And if they are not then they are not stopping. There is no one to tattle on them, and they do what they want.

Remember the old days when a President hired a crew to find damaging information on a political opponent, and was forced to resign?

Now, we have a President who is using the FBI to find and remove embarrassing information from a journalist. Wonder what will happen to this president?

This isn’t about messed up Ashley’s diary.

This is about the jack boots at the FBI, at the bequest of Merrick Garland, using the diary as a pretext to seize James O’Keefe’s phones and rifle through his files.

The purpose: to find out his contacts, donors, and case files and try to shut Project Veritas and their investigations down.

Every journalist in the country should be screaming about these gestapo tactics, but they don’t and they won’t, because these so-called journalists are nothing more than the propaganda arm of the RAT party.

Never has been a crime in the past. How many times have documents been “lost” and “found” by journalists and have implicated high level government officials.

not to mention, fearful they could be targeted next - if they ‘leave the reservation’.

Exactly. They now have his confidential sources and his donor list. They can now expose them and go after them on unrelated charges, or set the IRS after them. This is ugly.

Good point. Of course, in this case Biden is just a figurehead with no authority. They can do what they want and if it comes to it, let him take the rap and just replace him with another puppet.

Once more in this kind of obvious politically motivated hit, the focus should be on the judge that issued the warrant, the FBI/DOJ stooges that made up information in the warrant which was submitted to the judge.

Judges need to get the light of public opinion focused on their “enabling” of criminal actions by the FBI/DOJ. If judges become more reluctant and more demanding in the quality of information presented to them this kind of things will be reduced dramatically.

Also those stooges who submitted the likely false information in support of a warrant, need to understand that it is a career destroying move.

The underlying justice system regarding the issuance of warrants for political actions whether in this case of the Russia-gate/Steele Dossier is broken and needs to be fixed. It needs to be fixed at the point where judges review warrant requests.
