No testimony is planned for today as both the state and the defense have rested their cases. Today the lawyers meet to discuss how the trial will proceed as they approach jury deliberation.

Praying that this trial ends on a good note.
How about the defense make a motion to dismiss with prejudice. From what I've seen so far, they would be doing the prosecution a favor.
Desperation by the state . . . hoping to get something out of nothing?
The prosecution wants this, I'd prefer a jury not guilty verdict. Hopefully we have some reasonably bright people on the jury.
I can’t but help think that there’s gotta be some jurors who’d like to acquit because they say Rittenhouse as acting in self-defense.
However, there is that fear (just as it was in Minneapolis) that a not guilty verdict will bring out the rioters and worse yet, lead to them being doxed.
Hopefully we have some reasonably bright people on the jury.
bump for later
You make a funny, right?
I think Kyle will wind up with some weapons charges, but will be acquitted on the homicide charges.
Based on Kyle’s own words, maybe they’ll try to add “driving without a license.” π€£
I forgot to add with talented powers of persuasion.
What I think is funny is that the weapons charge is based on his being a minor at the time, yet they are trying him as an adult.
That seems awfully oxymoronic to me. Just sayin’.π
“Jury instructions” is a big part of any criminal trial. This starts with boilerplate language taken from state supreme court cases, to cover all the elements of most crimes on the books as well as defining all the legal mumbo-jumbo terms of art.
The most important one here is the instruction pertaining to lawful use of deadly force in defense of self.
WI Stat S: 939.48 (2014)
A person is privileged to threaten or intentionally use force against another for the purpose of preventing or terminating what the person reasonably believes to be an unlawful interference with his or her person by such other person. The actor may intentionally use only such force or threat thereof as the actor reasonably believes is necessary to prevent or terminate the interference. The actor may not intentionally use force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm unless the actor reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself.
This may be a fear; but whether it happens or not depends on if Democrat masters decide rioting is in their own best self interest. It is not clear that rioting by Democrat underlings would help the Brandon administration at this time.
With few exceptions, rioting can be turned on and off by Democrat masters.
You make a funny, right?

No I’m not kidding, the state will claim even if is is self defense Kyle used too much force
They will put the AR-15 on trial IMO
You paid attention they got people to admit a handgun is better for self defense and it had a “full metal jacket” and non-hollow bullets that could go through people putting others in danger
Prosecutors will ask to add some lesser charges against Kyle Rittenhouse
Is the state going for rebuttal witnesses today? A tremendous amount of time yesterday was spent discussing the drone video. Then the prosecution sprang “Kyle lied about going to AZ State” and some other bombshell. What happened with that?
