Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican who challenged New Jersey incumbent governor Phil Murphy in the 2021 gubernatorial race, is expected to concede on Friday, reported the New Jersey Herald.
As of Thursday, Murphy leads Ciattarelli by nearly 74,000 votes with all votes counted, stated NJ.com, citing The Associated Press. Murphy received 51 percent of the votes while Ciattarelli got 48 percent, according to NJ.com.
On Monday, Murphy called on his challenger to concede saying, “When it’s mathematically impossible to win, I think it’s dangerous” to not concede, reported the New Jersey Globe.
On Nov. 3, The Associated Press declared the Democrat governor winner, with 98 percent of precincts reporting and with more than 2.3 million votes cast.
Tallying votes in New Jersey took longer than expected as the state implemented this year new technology to support the election, including new voting machines. For example, in Paterson, election officials could not count ballots because they accidentally locked the machines, according to the New Jersey Herald.
In Newark and some other New Jersey cities, poll workers in 56 districts did not count votes due to “poll worker error,” reported the New Jersey Herald. A judge order was needed to reinstate their access to the machines.
Ciattarelli is a former New Jersey assemblyman, a certified public accountant, a two-time small-business owner, and a lifelong resident of New Jersey.
He campaigned under the banner “Let’s Fix New Jersey.” He told New Jerseyans that, as a governor, he would address the state’s most pressing issues, such as the highest property taxes in the nation, state government overspending, insufficient support for local and state police, and reforming public school curriculum. Ciattarelli also promised to foster business growth and create more jobs in the state.
Murphy has held leadership roles at Goldman Sachs’s offices in Germany and Hong Kong for more than 20 years and served as an ambassador to Germany during the Obama administration. He was also a finance chair for the Democratic National Committee.
He campaigned on a range of policies implemented during his tenure as governor, such as tax fairness for middle-class families, minimum wage at $15 an hour, more affordable public education, more child care, Democrat-backed green policies, and legalizing marijuana. His campaign’s slogan was: “It’s about how we move forward.”
Murphy was endorsed by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for reelection, and former President Barack Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) stumped for Murphy at his campaign rallies.
The incumbent governor is the first Democrat to win reelection in New Jersey since Brendan Byrne in 1977.
He won his first term in 2017 with 56 percent of the vote, beating Republican then-Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno who received 42 percent of the vote.

This race was largely ignored as unwinnable. Shouldn’t have been, obviously.

~140,000 votes found for Murphy AFTER election day.

A Republican seeking statewide office needs to win 57% of the votes cast on election day to overcome institutionalized fraud in Democratic strongholds of Hudson, Essex, Union, Middlesex, Mercer and Camden counties. It is virtually impossible to monitor the precincts where the vote totals are usually double the actual number of people, registered or not, who entered to cast a ballot. Nor is it possible to examine the paper ballots, mailed or collected, for legitimacy. Would not doubt that the methodoly of fraud is much the same in other Democratic states and urban strongholds. That is why many have serious doubts not only about the 2020 election but what is to come nationwide in 2022. Marxism cannot win in a free and fair election anywhere.

Glad President Trump didn’t waste much, if any, time helping Ciattarelli.
BTW, how many Freepers heard Mark Levin eviscerating Chris Christie tonight about how he disparages PDJT for “losing” and extolling how he (Christie) got some 60% in his NJ gubernatorial reelection bid??!!
Apparently, the “Cape May Orca” has designs on challenging our greatest POTUS in 2024.

Like Trump, Ciattarelli was winning pretty much the entire night. But as usual, the Democrats held back certain key precincts in the major cities to see how many votes they needed. Then, like magic, the votes appeared and put Murphy over the top.
Whatever kind of system this is, it's not a Republic.

, I think it’s dangerous” to not concede
I would expect nothing more or less from this illiterate scumbag, Murphy.
Take a lesson from your stupidity:
The above from Murphy reads “TO NOT CONCEDE”
This is grade school grammar, Stupid:
Correct way to say this is:
NOT TO CONCEDE, get it??? I know Murph would not understand the difference, but LEARN IT.
TO CONCEDE. IS AN INFINITIVE. ONE NEVER SPLITS...AN INFINITIVE.
Sorry to be the grammar police, but I despise this TOOTHY, SLEAZY individual who happens to be governor of NJ.
A state which we were ecstatic to leave. After all, Murph said...if you don’t like taxes, Jersey is not your State.
After which we left.

PS. The nefarious and despicable Teachers Union probably had thousands of these ballots at the ready.
I despise them also.

OH, I just read your post
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU NAILED IT.
What the heck prompted the Italian to concede?
Very discouraging.

Another Spineless Coward Republican who won’t demand a re-count Yeah, well what the Hell would you have done if faced with similar circumstances in a state rife with corruption?
Jack probably didn't want to drag his family through this for weeks, or he probably didn't have the money to challenge him. GoFundMe and the tech companies sure as Hell won't let his message get out.
He went toe-to-toe with Murphy and almost upset him. Murphy does not have the mandates in a 2nd term as he did before. That's good enough for me.

THAT would be the challenge of the century.
President Trump would make mince meat out of that bulbous walrus.
And he thinks of himself as someone who is NOT A LOSER.
Dementia knows no age.
