Shortly before 9 p.m. last night, a cop walking a beat heard gunshots inside Christmas Village, an outdoor peddler's market currently under construction in Love Park, at 15th and JFK.
The cop subsequently discovered a 29 year-old white male from Lancaster County who had been shot in the head, neck and stomach, according to CBS3.
The victim, who was seen just an hour earlier walking around Love Park with a blue backpack, was transported to Jefferson University Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

These articles are so cute. They seem to think that Philly has any decent reputation left to lose. Not much could make Philly look worse already.

why support any of these cities and any of their activities....?....if we as a community stopped supporting ALL activities in these trash towns the message would be loud and clear.....clean up and clean out the feral criminals or say good bye to a whole bunch of money.
I’m getting so tired of all these killings....
..........for many decades I have wanted to go to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and all the Revolutionary sites in Philadelphia.
With nearly 500 murders so far in Philadelphia, and defunding police 33 million, and calls to defund another 375 million, no way!
I think the historic areas of Philadelphia should be placed under Martial Law, permanently, because it’s now proven beyond all doubt that “Philadelphians” will continue to elect morons. Democracy doesn’t work in Philadelphia. Martial Law will at least allow all of us in the rest of the country that want to visit the historical sites in their lifetime to do so.

I only care when an innocent is unfairly targeted or caught in the savages’ crossfire.
No, lots of "whiteys" not only hang out, but live in these cities. Of every political stripe and theology. You wouldn't know that of course, since you're likely afraid to "hang out" in a city.
95+ percent of these crimes are animals killing other animals. My only complaint is that it used to be 98%.

I've walked through Independence Mall five days a week for the last ten years on my way to work. I do so unarmed (nearly always) because I'd likely lose my job if I arrived armed.
I'm no longer a physically intimidating man, but I have good judgement. Even if I didn't, there wouldn't be any drug dealers for me to rob, and thus nearly no chance I'd be the victim of violent crime today.
If you really want to see the historic sites, man up, don't pick fights with people you don't know, and stay out of areas that you have no business being in and nothing to attract you.

These aren't random people being murdered, any more than in the suburbs. Don't look for trouble, if you can manage, and you won't find it.
I think their motto is “hey. At least we’re not Chicago.”
I respect your sage advice but I live in an area where there is virtually zero crime. Going to a city where there is a good chance of 600 murders this year would be just too much for this old cowboy to take! I THINK our crime statistics show 3 murders last year and that was basically husbands and wives or girlfriends and boyfriends stabbing or shooting each other.
Seeing the Philly historical sites just ain’t worth it.
Look if you feel like you're prone to doing crazy stuff, then God Bless You for not polluting our city with your random violence. You'd be shocked how few people share your in directed murder impulse, even in the worst neighborhoods.
Even the worst of people murder for a reason. You, apparently have none, and, I'd suspect, you believe a fair amount of others do too. They don't.
Sir, you REALLY do need to seek some counseling. What you’ve written here is the worst writing I’ve seen on FR, out of many thousands of responses, in 15 years or so.
What you’ve said is absolutely incomprehensible, incoherent babbling and has no relation to the subject matter at hand ( 600 person murder rate in Philadelphia or National historical sites) and makes no understandable sense at all. GET HELP.
