It is always best to get a clean verdict of not guilty, because it is extremely hard to appeal that jury verdict in favor of a defendant. A mistrial order is a legal decision by the judge that can be more easily overturned by a quarter of appeals.

I think a jury verdict will be more helpful.

As long as it’s not more than half, he should be fine. ;-)

Is this better or worse then being found innocent?

He will be charged with something else pretty quick, so he had better get out of the US ASAP.

It's not as good as an acquittal, but it could effectively end any prosecution. If the mistrial was induced by prosecutorial misconduct and double jeopardy applies, then it is hard to see what else they could charge him with under the Blockburger test. They've already charged him with first degree murder and firearms offenses.

Yep. The DOJ will claim the dead guys civil rights were violated. No way they won’t support antifa in this. Insane, but…Garland.

The said earlier today they might ask for mistrial with prejudice, which means the case cannot be brought again(?).

Lawyers please chime in here.

A Dismissal With Prejudice means the case can’t be filed again.

Fedgov will undoubtedly file one of its famous "violation of civil rights" prosecutions against Rittenhouse.

That was a pretty good smackdown the Judge gave that clown this morning!

Well, it’s moot anyway. The judge didn’t grant it.
They seem to be stuck on pointless questioning about Rosenbaum.

Civil rights.

The catch all for prosecution.

Or just put him in a civil trial till he dies of old age.

The defense always asks for dismissal or mistrial. Doesn’t mean they get it.

Judge is yelling at the prosecutor again right now.

Wow. That prosecutor is a piece of work.

“Why would they do that, when they’ve had a lot of things swing their way?”

Because it would be over. Kyle would instantly be a free man.

This is a complete waste of money and time and the prosecution has reliably proven this.

After I heard the protection examine thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, I had to go throw up. I could also not understand why the prosecution spoke to the judge with such disdain toward the judge?
