Actually, I heard that the prosecutor's actions may be specifically designed to tank the case and get a mistrial which is why the defense suggested that they are considering a motion for "mistrial with prejudice".

Just watched an hour of his testimony...mostly questions by the prosecutor. The judge ripped the prosecutor a new one twice that I saw. The defense threatened to move for a mistrial...*with prejudice*.

Of course we don't know for sure yet, but for a .45 Long Colt, I'd wager it was a cast lead bullet with no copper jacket, the most common loading for the .45 Long Colt.

Hard cast lead will not deform very much if at all when striking soft tissue, and is often used when deep penetration is desired.

My heart breaks for him. He will be traumatized for life doing what he had to do, the right thing to do. God comfort and protect him.

No truth to that in general. Might be truth to that in a case wehre an affirmative defense is the only way to be acquitted, but I imagine a self-defense case can be made with witnesses and facts that don;t depend on defendant testimony at trial.
