Today they are expected to bring in a witness that will impeach Gaige Grosskreutz' testimony claiming that he did not say that he wished that he would have emptied his gun into Kyle Rittenhouse."
It should be a lively day on the stand.
I imagine that Kyle will continue to smile and look relaxed during the trial knowing that the prosecutors are total idiots, and that Judge Schroeder will continue to make humorous insertions from the bench (probably because he already knows how this trial will end with a directed verdict of innocence).
As Hawk Harrelson used to say, "Sit back, relax, and strap it down" cuz' no doubt this one is going to get jiggy.
Grosskreutz stated under oath that harming another person was not in his DNA . . . looks like it was based on those comments of emptying his glock into him to his roommate.
I agree with you.
I’ve been trying cases in Federal and state courts for just over forty years, and I am struck by the low level of trial advocacy shown by both sides in this case. The defense is clearly doing better than the prosecution, but they should have destroyed the prosecution’s case by now. Maybe it’s a difference in culture between the Midwest and the East Coast, but when I hear arguments devoid of any authority like “Well, your honor, we usually don’t admit impeachment documents” I have to scratch my head and wonder.
Even with the FOID when I moved my guns and ammo from Wisconsin to my current State I drove the fastest route out of Illinois and never exceeded the speed limit. Too many weapons in the car and too much ammo, even with military orders there was a risk of losing them if stopped for any reason.
How could the judge NOT dismiss the case once the prosecution rested. I’ve been on too many juries. One murder case I was on was dismissed, rightly so, after the prosecution rested. Everyone was pretty sure that the guy did it, but they had ZERO proof.
The defendant went on to murder his mother a couple years later. He is doing life in Mansfield State.
Probably, just nerves.
18 yrs old, on trial, accused of crimes that he did not commit, with the punishment being the rest of his life in prison.
He is up against the most powerful forces in the world, that want his head on a pike.
The Xiden regime; DOJ, state and county prosecutors, the msm and the coddled left.
I'd be nervous, too.
It’s the judges responsibility to dismiss this case with prejudice as their is no evidence that this wasn’t a justifiable homicide in every case. The definition of Self-Defense.
Has the prosecution rested? If so a Motion to Dismiss would have to be accepted. Not one witness or piece of evidence shows that it wasn’t self defense.
What a waste of taxpayers money!
agreed. I gave money just now to Kyle. He’s the Point Man for all of us (patriots) right now.
Legal Insurrection made a similar comment a couple of days ago. The ADA screwed up badly and I believe they opened the door for the Defense to exact testimony as to why one of the assailants was on medication and why he was incarcerated before the riots. The Defense did not pounce on that and really should have according to Legal Insurrection.

Directed Verdict
Primary tabs
Overview
A directed verdict is a ruling entered by a trial judge after determining that there is no legally sufficient evidentiary basis for a reasonable jury to reach a different conclusion.
The trial court may grant a directed verdict either sua sponte or upon a motion by either party. A directed verdict may be granted at any time, but usually occurs after at least one party has been fully heard.
Motions for a directed verdict are governed by Rule 50 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Rule 29 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
Directed verdicts have been largely replaced by judgment as a matter of law (JMOL).
The only thing against outright dismissing the case is that it may not be the best for Kyle Rittenhouse. He needs a pronouncement of innocence, yea?
True. His yawning could also be nerves. All small things but impressions affect juries.
Jurors are seated . . . oath has been given . . . so what’s left is
