Partisan polarization remains the dominant, seemingly unalterable condition of American politics. Republicans and Democrats agree on very little – and when they do, it often is in the shared belief that they have little in common.
Pew Research Center’s new political typology provides a road map to today’s fractured political landscape. It segments the public into nine distinct groups, based on an analysis of their attitudes and values. The study is primarily based on a survey of 10,221 adults conducted July 8-18, 2021; it also draws from several additional interviews with these respondents conducted since January 2020.

Where’s the “Anybody but mean tweet conservative” category. I’ve met a bunch of people who would vote for Trump were it not for those “mean tweets”. I ask them, “What the hell do you think the demonizing comments that the Democraps make all the time constitute. We’re “Astro-turfers”, “Deplorables”, “Terrorists”, “Nazis”, “Mean”, “Racists”, “Homophobes”, “Anti-this-and-that”, “Deniers”, you name it. The Democraps invented demonizing and “mean tweets”, and it’s not just the Democrap party that does it, it’s 95+% of the damn media. The political rhetoric works both ways, and if people are forgiving of the Democraps and their media friends, they need to open their Brandon eyes.
Yep, all that “take the high road”, and “we won’t stoop to that level” nonsense gets you nowhere. The left needs to be destroyed.
We can’t clean their house until we clean our own.
bush league chamber of commerce worshiping republiCAN’Ts have to be removed from the party entirely. They side with the commies virtually 100% of the time.
Eliminate them first, then we will have fighters on our side to clean up the rest of the mess
I took the test and came out Faith and Flag conservative.
That is probably closest to what I am.
HOWEVER, the survey is NOT an accurate reflection of my opinions. In MANY cases like the one about the Justice system, NONE of the alternatives reflects my opinions. I think our system delivers justice to the wealthiest clients but often releases violent offenders due to technicalities but incarcerated people for minor offenses.
We often “try” the effectiveness of the attorney rather than guilt or innocence of the offender. Too many judges, especially liberals in the Federal Sysyem, render decisions purely on political motives
It’s too complicated for one simple question.
Yeah, I think it's pretty impossible to poll because you would be overwhelmed by the true variation. This is why they never ask "why"?
E.g., in one question they ask to pick which you agree with most:
Voting is a fundamental right for every adult U.S. citizen and should not be restricted in any way
Voting is a privilege that comes with responsibilities and can be limited if adult U.S. citizens don’t meet some requirements
Well, I'd agree it's a fundamental right, but also agree it can be limited - as in requiring ID or excluding felons. So for both of these, options, I only agree with half the statement.
Exactly right, we can’t really do battle with the left while most of “our” elected are assisting the Democrats.
Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How they rig these damned polls
