CNN Doctor Says Kids Should Wear Masks for Two More Years

In a CNN interview on Tuesday with Ana Cabrera, Dr. Jorge Rodriguez — billed as as board certified internal medicine specialist and viral researcher — offered his expert opinion on how long American kids should be forced to mask up as part of combatting the Wuhan coronavirus.

"Some schools are getting rid of mask requirements," noted host Ana Cabrera. "Is the country in a place where it's ok to take this step and if not — not now — when will it be?" she asked Dr. Rodriguez.

"I think it's too early to stop requiring children to wear masks," he answered calling decisions to relax mask mandates "one of the biggest pitfalls we've fallen on."

"In the past, whenever we think that things are good, we go ahead and take off our masks and the CDC says you can take them off and that's what happened in July," Dr. Rodriquez stated. "When we prematurely stopped [wearing] our masks, Delta came along and just blew that theory out of the water."

It seems that, to Dr. Rodriguez, everyone should be masked all the time until there are no longer any COVID cases... anywhere in the world?

"This is not just the United States doing better," he explained, "the whole world needs to do better."

"We've opened up travel effective yesterday, and Europe is seeing its highest COVID percentages that it's seen almost in a year," Dr. Rodriguez said, and apparently cases in Europe means kids in American schools can't take off their masks. "There's a storm on the horizon and it's coming over," he claimed.

"Yes I think it's too soon to lift mandates for masks, especially in children at this point," concluded Dr. Rodriguez. "When will it be safe?" he asked rhetorically before answering: "Your guess is as good as mine, but I would say in, hopefully, a year — maybe two."

So another year of mandatory masking for kids is the "expert" recommendation according to CNN. Maybe even two more years.

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) put it well: "No. Stay away from our kids."

is doing well in the middle of a big surge here in colorado. I spoke woth a friend who is a gather - she says the kids take their masks off at recess and throw them on the ground. When it’s time to go in they pick up the first mask they get to and put it on….. great public health policy there!

Re Dr. Rodriquez - I guess his medical degree was a DQ - Doctor of Quackery.

I’m sure he has a legit degree but one in common sense was not listed on his CV. Vaccines didn’t do the full job of immunization so it had to be extended in terms of the number of shots, the new varieties of ingredients, and total disagreement over who should get what re efficiency and the number of vaccinations.

Young children are the least susceptible to the COVID so in most cases, it would be just as easy to let a natural immunity build up in those who are health while developing vaccines (shots or pills) for those children with existing medical conditions.

As for adults, it’s a crap shoot esp. now that most vaccines are having serious side-effects on the mid-age population late 20’s thru mid-60’s. Being over 65 is a gray area re the shots so it should be left up to the individual and their medical doctors to discuss the options for the individual.

Every time I get ready to get my shot something happens, either an internal health problem due to the residual results of cancer and treatments, or there is another potentially fatal reaction from the existing vaccines.

My dilemma, should be my choice (I died once and didn’t like it). Now I’m in a questionable win-win or no-win situation re the vaccine, but it is still a crapshoot with my life.

However, I say leave our children alone at the lower ages. There is enough interference with their lives as it is. We don’t need a Fauci/Walensky/Rodriquez screwing them up too.

I haven’t washed my mask one time since I started wearing it in March 2020. I remember hearing from neighbors they washed theirs daily. Screw that. Other thing I never did was wash my groceries during those months all the idiots were doing it. I refused. The only science I listened to was the vaccine and got it. mine lives crumpled in my purse or the floor of my car. I don’t wear it very often - just to go in the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions other than when i am working. Then i wear the hospitals mask and throw it out on the way out the door

Are masks really safer than no masks?

Maybe there’s a scientific explanation for states with no mask mandates having better corona virus success rates than those with no mask mandates: after being worn for just a few minutes, masks provide a moist habitat for the virus to accumulate and grow - multiply - around a person’s nose and mouth.

Considering this possibility, perhaps the free airflow without masks is less prone to virus sharing than wearing masks that become moist by long term wear. Are we condemning children to greater risk by forcing them to wear masks?

How about a scientific test to prove or disprove this hypothesis?
