It’s called herd immunity. It happens when you don’t quarantine well people.
I’m afraid Biden opening the gates from other countries will be a disaster....and you’re going to see a monstrous spike.

Just because there are mask mandates in areas of California, you shouldn’t interpret that as meaning people are actually masking up. Especially in the valley towns where I live, mask mandates are virtually ignored. or not even in existence, where they do exist they are mostly inside only. It’s large urban areas like San Francisco and LA where they are actually trying to enforce mandates.. even there with little success. Most sheriffs in CA oppose mandates generally and their departments don’t enforce them.
The reason for the difference in transmission between the old South and points North is seasonal... in the winter people in the South spend more time outside... if you look at Alaska right now they are showing a high transmission rate.. they are all indoors right now. The best predictor of transmission is the time the population spends indoors vs. outside. That is why N. California has higher transmission rates than the southern counties right now.

I noticed on oann that Biden was entertaining the NBA at the Whitehouse and not a mask to be seen. Biden was praising them for being what amounts to social justice warriors and pushing vaccines. Strangely there doesn’t seem to be any concern raised by the anti-American media.

1) In Sweden, every person is legally responsible, financially and criminally, for spreading infection and/or infecting someone resulting in their illness or death:

2) Sweden responded to the carnage by imposing limits on gatherings/restaurants/etc Jan 1, 2021. Most of these restrictions were lifted Sep 29 but are subject to being reinstated:
Under the new Act, on 8 January the Government issued a new ordinance – the ‘limitations ordinance for COVID-19’ – that entails the introduction of legally binding regulations on gyms and sports centres, swimming pools, shops and malls, and places for private gatherings as of 10 January.

3) The King of Sweden himself declared his policy a failure:
” by late December 2020 it had one of the highest death counts on the continent, with 8300 fatalities out of a population of just 10 million. Sweden’s unique stance was branded a failure, with Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf that month telling local media the country had made a grave error, as the nation mourned and the health system buckled.[by October 2021, the deaths have almost doubled]

“Maybe it’s time to retire its status as a pandemic lightning rod.”
It's certainly the biggest "natural" factor involved.
It's also why the "lockdowns" were literally anti-science.
