Build Back Better Bill Targets Single-Family Homes in the Name of Affordable Housing

The Build Back Better Act, or the Democrats’ social and environmental spending bill, includes financial incentives for state and local entities to change zoning laws, specifically those that would replace single-family homes with multi-unit properties to provide more “affordable housing.”

Those financial incentives would come in the form of tax-payer-funded grants and tax credits.

On page 815 of the 2,468-page, $1.75 trillion bill, it reads:

The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall establish a competitive grant program for— (1) planning grants to develop and evaluate housing policy plans and substantially improve housing strategies; (2) streamlining regulatory requirements and shorten processes, reform zoning codes, or other initiatives that reduce barriers to housing supply elasticity and affordability.

Taxpayer-funded National Public Radio (NPR) titled its report on the bill, “Democrats are seeking largest ever investment in affordable housing.”

And no police anywhere in sight.

Rezoning existing neighborhoods of single family homes into apartments explains why so many corporations have been buying up single family homes.

The fix was in.

“I wonder how this affects HOA’s?”

Federal judges have always trumped HOAs.

In AZ, HOA’s seem to run a pretty tight ship. I just don’t see how a Cabrini Green type of setting would do well under an HOA. Time will tell.

Hopefully the suburban moms who voted for Biden because they didn't like mean tweets have a few actual mean people move into their neighborhoods and steal their kids bikes. Or worse.

California already passed such a law this year. Now every parcel currently zoned for a single family home can have two or more homes/apartments on that land.

I live in a neighborhood with homes all on 1/2 acre minimum lots. I’m waiting for the apartments to start springing up. So far, none. I’m hopeful my neighbors don’t sell or subdivide, and we can all die on our 1/2 acre lots. Yes I’m NIMBY! I bought my home for a lower price during the real estate crash of 2008.

Scary article but explains why things are so messed up right now. Have to demolish something before you can build back.

Likewise, most Western leaders used Build Back Better as a campaign slogan.

Blacks want to move to the suburbs, too, you racists. And the only way they CAN do that is by building housing projects. Those that have done it on their own are just Uncle Toms./s

I said something like this a few months ago - they are crashing everything business, healthcare, energy, food supply, military, etc., because to build back better they have to tear it down first.

These incentive programs...Our Town got a biggie...One million dollars....residents have to pay half...

For what....new sidewalks to curb....new street lights> What was there was absolutely fine. And in the 45 years I've been in this Town, I've never seen anyone walk on the sidewalk. And there are sidewalks on both sides of the street. This is a little commercial area...with parking lots....no need to use sidewalks.

So the Town went into debt for half a mil....just dumb.

I did hear that for his birthday party Martha’s Vineyard was swarming with Black people. Locals had never seen him like that. Of course they were rich black people.

They want to build HUD style ghettos in the suburbs, on pristine farmland.

How will the HUD dwellers get to these homes in rural areas?

Will the taxpayers have to pay the bill for mass transit to these far away locations?

Well for decades, the UN has been some goofy intl org that wrote a lot of lofty essays but rarely accomplished anything. Now we have world leaders and the world’s biggest corporations on board with those lofty ideas and we’re finding out now that their ideas are far from being lofty goals. Instead, we’ll have a global system with two classes of people on opposite ends of the economic and political spectrum. AKA Communism or a technocrosy or a corporatocracy or combination thereof.
