Should be interesting in NYC. The teacher’s union and the new mayor are insisting that kids be vaccinated in order to attend public schools. Almost all Orthodox Jewish children attend private schools but some, especially those with special needs, use public facilities. This has the potential of being a rallying point for parents who are opposed to the vaccine in children who are in actuality at very little risk for COVID19.
What this decision does, despite your obvious sarcasm, is to give religious cover to those Jews seeking a religious exemption from taking the jab. If Catholic and Protestant authorities would do the same, and for that matter Muslim authorities, we would have a substantial number of people nationwide who had serious First Amendment objections to this whole scheme of things. You should applaud this, not attempt to ridicule it.
