Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm (D) said Sunday that President Biden is considering tapping into the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve amid rising crude oil prices.
During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Granholm told host Dana Bash that Biden is looking at every tool at his disposal to address high gas prices in the U.S.
Granholm noted that Biden had already asked the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to increase supply, but it declined.

Obvious yet? Stop all resupply and burn all reserves. Humans will be eating each other cooked over a campfire before this is over...
Which is of course the end goal.
10 Months ago the US was #1 producer of energy.
Now we beg the ME goons for more as we shut down our own energy infrastructure with the point being of building back better LOL.
AmeriKa, the land of the bizarre!
Tapping the strategic petroleum reserve. Or, as Democrat presidents call it, “Ole Reliable.”
This will save Americans maybe $1 at the pump and the media will fail over itself with the measures the administration is taking to help us.
You know the answer...
You know the answer...
They just want to lower the rate of increase in gas prices until the midterm election next year. Depleting the strategic reserve may be enough. They will then be free to cripple the economy with $10 per gallon gas for the next two years.

I had just assumed this was the first think Biden did after seizing office. It’s a standard Democrat thing - probably commanded to him by one of our strategic enemies in response to blackmail.
We should never need the strategic reserve but it’s nice to have around. I’ll say(again) we should give it to Cuba once they oust the communists. It will last a long time. Throw in every used Ford Fiesta/ranger pickup laying in our junkyards to get ahold of their market before Kia and Toyota step up. Print up owners manuals in Spanish beforehand.
Did Biden just pull her and Pete’s name out of a hat? They seem to have no valid skills or knowledge for the jobs they have.
Nothing like shutting down our fuel supplies and using up our strategic oil reserves. Incompetent or traitor?
Even as China is making all kinds of threats and is actually testing our will?
Pure genius....if you are working for the Chinese.
The complete idiocy of the DemocRAT administration defies description.
Stupidity.
Already being done.
WTH? Build Back Bankrupt Biden Considering Shuttering ANOTHER Pipeline Even as Heating Bills Skyrocket

In their minds, skyrocketing energy prices and dependence on foreign sources is a feature, not a bug.
He’s got to get that reserve drawn down somehow to keep gas prices up eternally eventually. If there is no reserve, prices become very unstable. This, with shutting down the pipeline going into Escanaba at the BEGINNING of winter shows the real agenda to make Midwesterners suffer. I’m trying to put the pieces together.
They are cheaters, to boot. Cheaters often win, is the way the law of the jungle and the so-called rule of law actually work, here in the real world.
Government "success" is by and large measured by how ruthless it is, and how compliant the populace. Successful governments control their public. Failed governments are openly rejected by the public, which then resists. See fall of USSR.
Domino can fall either way. China is a successful government. Venezuala is a successful government. So far, government is USA is a success too - even perpetrating the Russian collusion hoax was a success. Got the job done, didn't it? Another example of the power and effectiveness of cheating.
