A senior White House adviser said the Justice Department will set the amount of compensation if it deems that paying migrants separated from their families will save taxpayers money — payments that run as much as $450,000 or more.
“If the DOJ determines that it saves the taxpayers money and it rights a wrong, then they will make the determination that is necessary and I would assume if they make a determination, they’ll come up with what they think is an adequate dollar amount,” Cedric Richmond said on “Fox News Sunday.”
Richmond said the Justice Department is making its decision independently of the White House.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the average demand in each lawsuit adds up to approximately $3.4 million per family, while the settlement offer from the Biden administration amounts to around $450,000 per person and close to $1 million per family.

The payouts are illegal - coming from what fund? What “court action/lawsuit” has taken place here that the DoJ is “settling” by just giving away money?!
They were separated while committing a crime. The doj has a solid case here and they are not even going to try and fight is. It is a payoff to their friends, nothing more.
This government paying illegals thousands of dollars will go right to attorneys representing them. Heck Mexico has Attorney offices etc. throughout the US run by the Mexican Government! Imagine where the money is going to go.
So why don’t we just blanket this demand for anyone that breaks the law and is separated from their children. There is a lot of parents in prison separated from their children.
A friend of mine’s daughter had her children taken when she gave birth with meth in her system. I guess she’s a rich woman now.
