A witness in Kyle Rittenhouse’s murder trial told a Wisconsin jury Friday that he didn’t feel threatened by the first man fatally shot by the accused gunman.
Jason Lackowski — who went to Kenosha the night that Rittenhouse, 18, fatally shot two men and wounded another — recalled victim Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, “acting belligerently” when he was asking people to shoot him and taunting them to come at him by “false stepping.”
“He did a few false stepping — making a step to entice someone to do something,” Lackowski testified. “After he did that a few times, I turned my back to him and ignored him.

“Acting belligerently”, but not a threat? OK.
Did they get to the part where Rosenbaum attempted to grab Kyle’s rifle?
Wasn’t a threat right at that time.
Doesn’t mean he wasn’t later.
Jason Lackowski ..
what kind of BS is this article?
Many others did
and the defense asked him if someone yelled F-you running at you trying to grab your gun if that would put your life in danger and this witness said YES
this form the NY post and not CNN?
Did the defense get the hidden FBLie video yet?-)
False stepping is not the same as running down and charging someone.
what a load of crap. they are regurgitating the AssPress lies.
Rosenbaum grabbed Kyle’s gun
“he didn’t feel threatened by the first man fatally shot by the accused gunman.”
Well, “he” wasn’t threatened, chased, assaulted, nor had his weapon nearly taken by “the first man”. Not much reason to feel threatened by someone who isn’t threatening. Some nut wandering around yelling inanities at random people is rather different from same nut singling one person out and commencing an attack.
Note the straw man/gaslighting in the title. There’s a difference between saying a man isn’t a threat at all, vs. saying a man doesn’t feel like a threat *to me*. The witness said the latter, the headline represents thd former.
Furthermore, saying one “doesn’t feel threatened” doesn’t mean the other person doesn’t intend harm. I’m sure a lot of women voluntarily got in their rapist’s or murderer’s car because they didn’t feel threatened - but, they were mistaken.
Sounds like the way a belligerent drunk acts early in the evening.
An hour a or two later that same drunk may be swinging at anyone who strike him as worthy of his rising anger.
Laskowski may have not been threatened by this person earlier, but later this same person may have had a few more beers in him and the monster lurking inside may have been released.
Wasn’t a threat right at that time.
Doesn’t mean he wasn’t later.

Exactly. It’s totally irrelevant. Has the defense crossed examined yet? They would be totally incompetent if the didn’t ask this idiot if Rossenbaum chased him down and tried to grab his gun.
There are at least 2 other witnesses that counter this guy.
Yup. Feints like that are just a guy looking for an opening.
He might not have perceived him as a threat, but clearly Rittenhouse thought he was. It really doesn’t matter what his opinion is.
“He wasn’t a threat to me because he was chasing Rittenhouse.”
This witness was a weird guy. He also blacked out that night and lost a couple of minutes. When he came back to reality, he was at a different location. Also seems to either have not seen some things or has CRS.
That and video in which the jurors can see and form their own opinion. He was a punk ass cracka as they probably referred to him while he was in prison and you could tell he'd been in prison.
This witness, who has black outs, might not be afraid of anything or anyone. Just numb.
So, did he witness the incident?
I wouldn't have Lackowski on my team, too much work when ya have to drag him to cover.
